I've sworn by this game for years, and nearly all of my friends who dig Mario games won't even give it a chance. I keep stressing the fact that they are missing out on one of the funnest and most aesthetically pleasing platforming games of all time, but to no avail.

Truly an underrated gem and wholeheartedly deserving of a VC release.

I doubt I'd ever use the DS cause I have a GBA which I never use (even though I can play whatever ROMs I want on it with a lil cart I have)

I need to explore my earlier gaming systems more in-depth before I move onto something fancy like the DS

i was playing this game on an emulator just a few hours ago, didn't realize the thread was bumped until just now.

Nintendo Power ranks this game as the 22nd best nintendo game ever made.

Yet there have been more than 22 other Nintendo games on the VC. What a shame.

I bought it and almost puked from playing it. The way the screen moves made me get motion sickness. Super Mario Kart does that to me too.

Nah that's not why it's not on the VC. Yoshi's Island uses the Super FX chip, so my guess is Nintendo hasn't figured a way to emulate it on the Wii. The original Star Fox uses the Super FX chip too and it's not on the VC.

I don't see what the hold up is though, people have been emulating Star Fox for years on the PC.

khcadwal might have Yoshi's Island DS, because the original Yoshi's Island was released for the GBA. Technically you can play that on the DS though.
