The CV Boots on the MX3 are worn. Has anyone used a quick boot kit? I want some opinions.

Will it last or is it a temporary fix? I don't want to take off the axles if I don't have too, however, I don't want this to be a temp fix and a waste of money... 9/17/2009 9:07:53 AM |

Quick boots can be hit or miss. Plastic formulation has gotten better, and they at least use cyanoacrylate to seal the seam, so they hold up better than they used to. Don't count on more than half the mileage that you would get out of a standard boot, though.
I had a pair on a Sentra that held up really well. It beat the hell out of taking the axle out and disassembling it, though I've done that a thousand times as well. 9/17/2009 10:03:56 AM |

Considering they cost just about as much as a regular boot, the only thing I'm really saving is time and hassle... *cringe* I may just man up and get regular boots. Thanks.. 9/17/2009 10:12:15 AM |

i thought you had to do all the same labor as replacing the shaft, minus taking it the axle out 9/17/2009 8:53:44 PM |
