I know it is not an everyday occurrence but does Apple put the laptops on sale at all before or around christmas in the past?
Or is the best discount the one you are going to get through the apple student store online?
Would like to purchase the Macbook Pro 2.8 Ghz with 15 inch screen and 4 gb ram 10/8/2009 4:46:48 PM |

i don't think apple does sales other than maybe refurbs. though if you go through a reseller, you can often get a discount. i got something like 8% off when i bought my MBP at macmall.com

the refurbs are awesome in my experience. look into them.. you wont be able to tell it's a refurb. 10/8/2009 5:03:45 PM |

yeah, refurbs are the way to go
or if you're a student, get the ADP student subscription, you get a one-time discount on hardware... although i don't think it's much more than what you get through NCSU to start with. 10/8/2009 5:11:33 PM |

my wife got a refurb 17" MBP direct from apple, and if i didn't know, i would have never guessed it was refurb.
after 2 years of ownership the battery started to bulge and we took it to the apple store and they replaced the battery for free. i was very surprised and very happy about that. i'm sure they gave us a used/refurbished battery, but still its better than nothing.

I got a refurbished 13" macbook about 6 months ago and you'd never in a million years know it was refurbished. Still going strong. 10/9/2009 11:26:41 AM |
