problem #1: strange mole (pictures possibly coming)

i am very freckly and have some moles. this one on my arm is small, dark and raised on the inside, with strange edges and its kinda crispy. do i have melanoma?

problem #2: chest pain, right side

last night i woke up at 3:50 with like the worst chest pain ever. like very bad burning in the right side of my chest and a stabbing in the right back side under my scapula. and it kinda radiated to the right side of my collar bone. after awhile it subsided enough to go back to sleep but i still have it - it i just like a dull achy burning now. but last night i seriously considered driving to the hospital because it was like the worst pain i ever felt AND the more i thought about it the more i was like oh god what if i'm having a heart attack. i just had my cholesterol checked and it was excellent. and i'm not really obese although i could probably exercise more. do i have: really bad heartburn? a pulled muscle? aortic dissection? heart disease? other?

please let me know if you need more information on my symptoms.

haha i hope it is acid reflux. i took some OTC heartburn stuff and it doesn't work it just makes it kinda bearable but it still hurtsssssss

you have to be really careful about what you eat too. i drink a lot of soda so that doesn't help. mine randomly started too when i was going through a really stressful part of school and then a few weeks later it was over.

#1 If you are really worried, get it frozen off, simple procedure, but may cost some dollahs.

#2 Acid reflux, stomach acidity, sounds most likely. Especially since the pain seems to move around. Plus, as you describe, the pain seems to peak when you are laying down or sleeping, and leaves you with a residual pain throughout the rest of the day. I would look at your diet and consult your doctor about that, because stomach acid has a real potential to harm the stomach lining and the esophagus. Stomach acid can cause pain in your lower back, sides, chest, and in surprising areas. The simplest cause should always be the first thing you rule out, before worrying about something else more serious. Not unlike troubleshooting a computer problem.

yea the mole is asymmetrical and it has gotten darker/crispy over time

i mean its really tiny. but i found a dermatologist that takes my insurance here in gboro so i'm just gonna make an appt for next week (or asap). i haven't been to a derm since like high school anyways so it'd probably be good to get all my freckles/moles looked at!

my gf is a hypochondriac... I think it is because she watches too many of those medical tv shows. The other day she had a ghost pain in her foot (felt like she was stepping on something) and really said that she hopes it isn't a blood clot that is going to dislodge and travel to her lungs or brain and kill her


of course the pain went away that evening and she is still alive
