i have replaced both front regulators on my JGC for roughly $500+/each at the stealership in the last year and a half. From reading online it looks like this happens all the time on the WJ jeeps because of a weak plastic piece on the window mounting bracket which attached the regulator cable to the moving metal bracket at the base of the window. Today it happened to my driver side rear window.
I have seen online there is an aftermarket replacement piece for $30 that you can replace to avoid having to replace the whole regulator http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/showthread.php?t=471153 has a full write-up. Does anyone here have enough experience that you could help me try to do this or replace the whole regulator if required rather than taking it to the dealer for $500+? I already have the door panel off and everything exposed...just haven't started messing with the regulator. Any help or suggestion of where else i could take it is appreciated...willing to pay $north carolina but not $texas to the dealership.
Thanks. 10/11/2009 11:50:19 PM |
