was an e36 M3 SEDAN ever offered with an AUTOMATIC?
was keyless entry optional or standard equipment?
(talking US market here)

Yes, and I believe keyless was standard (and programming a new remote in can be done w/out any tools) on all sedans. 10/15/2009 10:20:28 PM |

thought so
I was gonna call you and ask you actually, but had a feeling this would be just as fast and less intrusive at this hour 10/15/2009 10:22:58 PM |

ahmet how many m3 sedans have you had?
and more importantly, ive never driven (or seen in person) an automatic one- is a a total waste of the M branding? 10/15/2009 10:24:05 PM |

No problem dude. If you count my current two I've had 6, but one of those really shouldn't count (looks like I have a buyer for it tomorrow, less than 9 days of ownership).
The silver car I have actually used to be an automatic, and was converted later. I wouldn't do an auto, but they were supposed to be good transmissions for late 90s for an automatic, however the manual is really top notch, and it's not like the cars had American V8 levels of torque. If you MUST have an automatic, they're certainly out there, and cheaper than the manuals to boot. I've never driven an auto either. 10/15/2009 10:30:11 PM |

Well yeah the convertible is the heaviest of all of them, and flexes around like a marshmellow. The e36 isn't all that stiff to begin with, but w/the flimsy roof chopped off, I'm sure it's a lot worse... 10/16/2009 2:17:31 PM |
