I was wondering if anyone on here had any thoughts on the the following problem.
40 inch Samsung LCD TV - LNT4061f - Was working then yesterday turned the TV on and the right side of the monitor is fine, but the left side of the picture is dim. The pixels are working and if you get close you can see they are there but the brightness is gone.
The first thing I did was try it with the tv menu and it was the same result so its not input related.
I took the whole TV apart thinking it would be 2 backlight bulbs behind in a grid running vertically that were providing the light. Hoping that one half would be blown.
When I opened the tv up I was confused to find that the backlights actually run horizontal in my TV.
This made my hypothesis of one half being out fail.
Any one have any ideas or suggestions? The repair place wants a 100 to even take a look at it and have a feeling it will quickly become more than that. I can buy a new tv just wanted to see what I could find on this one first. 11/5/2009 10:39:48 PM |

Have you checked to see if you might have a cataract in your left eye? 11/6/2009 10:03:25 AM |
