so I took mine apart a while back ago and never replaced it... I just found the parts to it and I can't get it back together (well, I can get it together, but after I put it back, if you press on it, it doesn't stay down).

I'm not sure if I'm putting this back together wrong or what... I can't figure out what's supposed to lock this thing down.

picture of parts:

descriptions (from left to right)
Part A: plastic cylinder, hex end, center hole in bottom is threaded
Part B: large spring
Part C: plastic collar with three guide bars
Part D: small spring (not sure this belongs...)
Part E: screw
Part F: plastic sheath with guide slots/bars
Part G: plastic cylinder, interior has guide bars/slots, one end is threaded (goes to part I)
Part H: rubber seal
Part I: threaded cap

FIGURED IT OUT!

Part F onto part E (small plastic sheath onto screw, with guide bars closest to screw head).
Part D on top of part F (small spring onto small sheath).
Part G onto F (large cylinder onto small sheath, with threads of large cylinder closest to screw head).
Part C onto Part F (with guide bars facing end of screw).
Part B into part G (large spring into large cylinder).
screw Part A onto Part E (plastic cyliner with hex end closest to screw end)

buy a new one so you can take it apart and see how it's put together...and then return it
