I have 3 roommates which are pretty internet intensive (torrents, another xbl account, wireless router, and heavy youtube watching for classes) and my connection to xbox live seems to have DRAMATICALLY suffered recently LAG (since acquiring two new roommates which use the internet more than the old ones)...is there any way around this? or do I just have to suck it up and just play when they aren't present and/or using the internet? 11/16/2009 9:18:20 PM |

quick google search, and it seems that if I could configure the QoS to supply the main connection in the living room to a certain "garaunteed quality of service" would be the best bet, as my roommates could continue to use the internet (at maybe a slightly lower bitrate when I'm using live) but I could still have a lag free experience on XBL...thanks a lot!
Is there an easy way to configure this, or do I have to do a shitload more research? 11/16/2009 9:50:50 PM |

Depends on what kind of router you have. If it doesn't natively support QoS, you will have to flash the firmware with something that does, (i.e. DDWRT or Tomato) 11/17/2009 10:12:08 AM |

well damn...this could possibly be too much trouble and a few tech levels over my head...sounded like a good idea at the time though
If I can't figure it out on google then it probably isn't ment to be done...lol 11/17/2009 7:42:05 PM |
