Do they publish a coffee-table book of NCSU's history and photos of the campus? I'm looking on Amazon but searching "North Carolina State University" brings up a couple thousand hits on books alone 11/25/2009 12:26:11 AM |

One book is North Carolina State University: A Bridge to the Future by Adam Smith, published in 2003. Looks like Amazon doesn't sell it, but I did find it on Barnes & Noble's website. You can probably order it through the campus bookstore as well.
A book that I like better is North Carolina State University: A Pictorial History by Murray Scott Downs from 1986, but it's been out of print for many years, so you'd have to go the used route. There are a few copies available from Amazon Sellers at the moment, in fact. 11/25/2009 12:54:54 AM |

i bought a used copy of the Murray Scott Downs book at Reader's Corner on Hillsborough Street
They still had another copy after I bought mine
it's definitely the classiest of the nc state history books... it was specially made to celebrate our centennial in 1987... the copies they had also still had the gorgeously designed dust jacket

That's where I got my copy as well. It seems like they frequently have at least one copy. Agreed about the dust jacket being gorgeous.11/25/2009 8:58:18 PM |

i'd be glad to give you a copy of the bell tower book when it comes out, too.
Check out History of State College. Lockemiller. 1938
Hill has a dozen copies. Not many pictures, but damn good writing. Referenced it in my thesis many times. 11/26/2009 1:12:20 PM |

Once I graduate (the 19th w00t) and I get copyrights cleared. Right now there's only one copy and if you're on/near campus any time, I'd be glad to how it to you over Cup-A-Joe or something. 11/27/2009 12:35:45 AM |
