Post your favorite readers, tutorials, server, downloaders and index sites

I signed up for a trial with usenetserver and i'm using SABnzbd downloader and NZBMatrix index, but i'm not thrilled with that so far.

Also post your favorite news groups to watch.

^haha ~$15/month is waaaaay worth the advantage over torrents and other forms of piracy. You're paying for access to a server with pretty much about anything on it. Not to mention the SSL security.

Use usenetserver, with newsleecher+supersearch. NZBmatrix is awesome.

IF i am paying for piracy then i'm pirating at least 4x faster than before and not knocking out my normal internet usage while i do

worth the $10/month to actually take advantage of my connection speed

What happened to Newzleech? I paid for a year, never used supersearch (addicted to newzbin) and then went to Grabit, until Azaka showed me the awesomeness that is alt.binz.

Just realized newzleech != newzleecher? Regardless, TvNZB/Newzbin is all that I use.

Anybody still have a nzb search they still use? Seems like all the good ones have been shut down.

I use OZnzb, Usenet-Crawler, OMGWTFNZBs, nzbzombie, nzb.is

no idea which of these works, but i usually get the tv shows i add on sonarr. i've noticed that lately i have a lot of movies that couchpotato can only find torrents for, so i could probably use a recommendation for movies

I need to switch over to Sonarr from Sickbeard but it still works fine. I use either the built in Sickbeard index, nzb.su, or newztown.

So is Sickbeard just another giganews then? Or is Sickbeard a replacement for SABnzb?

I have noticed recently that tons of things are getting pulled almost as fast as they get uploaded I assume due to DMCA requests or whatever. I use newsleecher to search but most of the time now the files just aren't there anymore.

^^Neither. Sickbeard is like Sonarr. It's for automated/pvr downloads when content becomes available.

^Yeah with movies. TV Shows I never seem to have an issue though.

When you think of Usenet there's usually 4 components that all interact:

1. Server (e.g. siganews)
2. Client (e.g. sabnzb)
3. Indexer (nzb, oznzb)
4. PVR (sickbeard, sonarr, couchpotato)

Also my 5th is Kodi which sickbeard sends a signal to when something new is downloaded so Kodi can do a library refresh.

Finally took the time to resub to UNS and I found the same thing that all index sites were dead.

Sonarr/CouchPotato + sabNZBd + Plex has been legit.

I'm currently in an NZBGeek trial for their API and haven't had an issue so far. There is a reddit post that lists all the current indexers but it looks like the good ones aren't taking on new members or have fallen off.

I moved to sickrage. Sickbeard is basically dead it seems, and Sonarr while better in some respects but runs like a hog on linux.

dognzb + eweka.nl have been bulletproof. Have had very little need to use couchpotato or even sickrage with dognzb's push service.

^^I need to give those a try. Sickbeard still works flawlessly so I haven't messed with it but I agree I don't think it's been updated in quite some time.

OZnzb is saying that it works through the API, but I have a lot of items that are not being found
