Why is it that whenever the user plays as DK, Bowser, or Wario, they are the slowest racers, but when the CPU plays as them, they always end up in the first four places?

bowser is fast if you can handle him well enough to not have to keep restarting

of course i've never played the 64 version, but I'm assuming this to be the case for that one as well

the comp cheats soooo much in that game.. but i guess it has to to stand a chance at winning half the time.

I fucking hate Mario Kart.

Yeah I fucking said it. The game takes no skill cuz all you have to do is accidentally get the baller ass weapons and beat everyone right before the race ends.

I had friends who dominated with all three of those characters.

Bigger characters- slower acceleration, faster top speed
Smaller characters- faster acceleration, slower top speed

Recovery time is slower, though.

who cares = mariokart64 sucked

that stupid catch-up feature or whatever it's called (where leader gets awful items and is artificially slowed down), ruined the game and every mariokart after

The AI cheats a lot in that game.. but it prolly needs to in order to have a chance of winning.

I remember that shit. I'd get the goddamn golden mushroom and boost the shit out of it on a straightaway. Less than two seconds later fucking Yoshi would be right on my tail again.

Were you rapidly tapping Z as fast as possible, or intermittently hitting it?

final fantasy 8 had rubber band AI

the problem was that after level 30/40 the enemies stopped upgrading

the game was by far the easiest in the series

My favorite Mariokart edition is probably Double Dash for Game Cube (can also be played on Wii). Love that shit, and finishing order is more dependent on skill than items in my experience (for that version moreso than others).

oh yeah. you could get a whole lap ahead of the pack if you hit it twice in a row.

you could also be a lap ahead , using a super speed star and on a speed pad and see Toad's kart on the mini-map going five times faster than you to catch up

it was ALWAYS toad
