Rest on the bench well.

Quote :
"Updating an earlier item, it has been revealed that ineffective Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme has a fractured right finger, and will undergo tests on Monday to determine if he has to miss any time, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Curious. There was no mention of the injury on Sunday, and coach John Fox has finally admitted publicly that he is thinking of benching Delhomme and his 18 interceptions. This mysterious broken finger could be just the ticket he needs to do it guilt-free. Matt Moore would start were Delhomme to be benched."

Hopefully, this is the end of the Delhomme Era, even if it means eating a ridiculous contract extension.

Gotta be honest, I don't have high hopes for the Matt Moore era either.

"Matt Moore will practice with Carolina's first team offense on Wednesday, as starting quarterback Jake Delhomme deals with a mystery finger injury, according to Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald.

Whether or not his finger is actually broken, he doesn't look likely to play on Sunday, and Moore could be the starter from here on out."

At least now, we can blame or shittiness on this. Before, we had no excuse.

Take a chance with Moore if that doesn't work oh well they aren't going anywhere.

Draft Tebow in the 2nd round....how about that 3-man run attack with TT, DeAngelo, and Stewart?

GOOD

I think moore will surprise everyone when he actually has a chance to prepare with the first team all week instead of being thrown in when we have a 2+ touchdown deficit....The last time he got the first team reps, he won two of three.

For the love of god, I hope they don't draft Tebow. He is like the Hansbrough of college football. He is gonna be terrible in the NFL.

Yea when there is a 100lb difference between the lineman and him, he is going to get stuffed pretty quickly...

because it's already a given hansbrough will suck right

i think tebow will do well, although i'm not sure if his body will hold up to the pounding he'll take if he runs a lot

^^^^^

I don't think we even have a draft pick high enough to get a good QB, much less a Teblow.

Tebow will be there when our pick in the 2nd comes around, and we'll pass on him, and wisely so

i don't think the panthers need a GREAT qb or anything. we just need someone competent who doesn't turn the ball over so terribly and can complete some third downs. with our running game, we can afford to wait until the second or even third round to find a solid, if unspectacular, quarterback.

personally, I nominate Dan LeFevour from Central Michigan. I've liked him since I saw him against UGA to start the season last year. He's a tough motherfucker, he completed 71% of his passes this year, and he ran the ball over 150 times this year so that mobility might be helpful.

Chris Landry (the greatest fucking mind in sports radio/scouting) said last night that two GMs told him that they wont let Tebow slip past them in the first.

I need to start a Chris Landry appreciation thread

i dont like settling for an avg QB. The evidence is pretty clear that a great QB makes teams contenders and makes them consistent winners. They erase a lot of mistakes in other parts of the team. Too bad we traded all our picks to address positions that arent QB.

This draft will probably be loaded with quality QBs -- Bradford, Mallet, Clausen, Locker -- so there will probably be some quality QBs there in the second round. If Colt McCoy somehow slides to us, I'll crap turds of joy.

too many good quarterbacks ahead of them in the ranking

I might be giving NFL GM's too much credit, but why would they tell some random sports radio talking head what they are going to do in the draft thats 5 months from now? That seems like some made up shit.

I'm telling you, the Jacksonville Jaguars are ABSOLUTELY getting Tebow.

The other GM was probably the Buccaneers.

maybe not, but if you don't then you need a badass defense to make up for it (tampa bay, baltimore), and ours isn't what it used to be. we traded our future away last year for everett brown

I don't like this thinking. QB is the most important position and only requires you to find one person. Teams that are perennially great have great QBs. Teams with only a great defense are up and down because it's hard to keep all the parts of a defense running consistently.

Investing in a great QB is about the best way a team can improve themselves for a long time. All other strategies are suboptimal (like this everette brown bullshit. No way he is going to make or break the team as a QB would ).

yeah that is pretty bad... maybe he gets fouled alot.

point is I don't think Tebow will be that bad in the NFL, he might not be a starter right away, but he'll find a way to get reps somewhere.
