need the name of what I call a water or meter key... but not the tool with the u-channel for that type of meter... I need the name of the tool that has two prongs on the end that form a u-shape

not this one:


everything looks the same except at the end there are two prongs and not the u-channel

also, where can I find a pvc threaded cap that fits into the pipe and has a recessed cross and not the extruded square?

like this:

only it's not just the one slot, but another one that forms a plus sign

nah, just used as a cap... not sure why this type was used... must have been what was in the stock yard.

so apparently this type of plug is so old no one around here has the tool for it... just gonna get my shop to make one

Just route one out of some 4x4 wood. It's makeshift but it should work. Nail a board to it for leverage. Ghetto but I'll be damned if it doesn't work.
