^^ Baseball teams would draft a five-year-old with an unusual predilection for swinging large sticks. That's what the bajillions of minor leagues are for. 12/10/2009 2:19:56 PM |

i'm still not sold he'll get drafted again if he bats .230 again this season.
the days of being rafael bellard or rey ordonez are over. gotta be able to swing the stick at least a little bit 12/10/2009 3:45:51 PM |

There are a few Cesar Izturis's floating around but I agree with that.
I've seen in a few places that he might not even start and our team was awful last year. 12/10/2009 5:04:38 PM |

I could hit .230 in college. maybe.
you don't get better at hitting when you switch to wood against the best HS and college pitchers in the country (MiLB). if he's going to go anywhere he needs to have a good year, and it's not like he got drafted real high the first time. Although, if you're going to go, after your junior year is when you have the most value. I guess we'll see, but I'm sure as shit not joining that group. 12/10/2009 7:05:07 PM |

Shit, I think he should try to be the next Doug Flutie. I could see him somewhat succeeding in the NFL. He would probably be better than a Jamarcus Russell.
Think of the possibilities... Rivers vs. Wilson in the Super Bowl!!!1

Think about this though, he could take his lion onto the field with him to help play o-line...........this lion idea has some real legs and great potential. 12/10/2009 9:11:13 PM |

... my high school baseball coach was a defensive back that got drafted by the braves because he ran a 4.34 40....
He'd never played baseball in his life. Got to Mississippi and blew out his knee.
Never the less he spent 3 years in the minors based solely on the fact that he was FAST AS FUCK, and they taught him to hit.
Baseball is all about potential. They can teach anyone to hit. 12/10/2009 9:17:33 PM |

You may be thinking to yourself. Do I really want to help purrrchase this lion? What if these guys are lion and tryin to cheeta me out of my money? Take a deep breath. Paws and just think...who would make this shit up? You could a be a part of... purrrrchasing Russell Wilson a godamn lion. You know you want to do it. Christian, the MANE man in charge of this operation, (did you like that claws?) will be accepting $1 donations until we get to $50 at which time, Russell Wilson will have a lion furrrever (well, until it croaks. or roars). You will be feline fine, knowing that your money is being put towards a good cause. ummmmm. im out of jokes. JUST DO IT. CATch ya later 12/10/2009 9:28:22 PM |

^^ i'd say your coach was more of an anomaly. guys who can learn to hit that quickly tend to be predisposed to having the ability already. you can't just "teach" someone to hit a 90mph fastball. 12/10/2009 11:40:31 PM |

^^^ if they can teach people to hit, why is it that jonathan diaz will never step foot in the big leagues? dude is one of the slickest fielders I have ever seen, but couldnt hit .300 in slow pitch softball 12/10/2009 11:57:41 PM |

i'm talking more along the lines of "teaching guys to hit"
you cant turn a .150 hitter into a good hitter with some "teaching"
not at the professional level 12/11/2009 12:24:37 AM |

What? The only opportunity you had to see Glennon in action was against the two FCS opponents last year. Just because he had a few stars next to his name on scout.com does not mean he is the next Timmy Chang. Wilson is the only reason we won a single game against a Division I opponent last year. He is our best option.12/11/2009 2:41:59 PM |
