ok, havent heard anything about this game until today... would rather get it on PC but sounds like that will be a while... on 360 are the controls more like Fallout (which I couldnt control at all on 360 but loved on PC) or more like GTA which I can control fine.

i tend to take my sweet time on games like these and explore a lot of stuff before i really even get to the missions or start causing a ruckus and killing locals. But man, i know i'm going to really love this game.

Played about an hour of it last night, and yeah it's pretty fun. Took a bit to get used to the controls on the horse, but I have a feeling there is a TON to do in this game

im guessing the challenges (survivalist, sharpshooter, etc) are similar to the police,fire, ambulance missions in GTA...completing them gives you some sort of perk like extra health, ammo. Ive been trying to do those before really getting into the missions (plus you get the chance to explore and see the scenery at the same time).

Anyone found the treasure map yet? I know where its showing but I dont know what to do when I get there.

first treasure map points to hanging rock -- it's between cluster of 3 big rocks. (there's a chest under some rocks, you'll have a prompt to hit Y)

the second map however.. i haven't figured out yet. (haven't really tried, too much other stuff to do!)

multi free roam is fun, though i almost wish there was more to do.

jumped in some team deathmatch type stuff and it's kinda chaotic/unbalanced... not sure how much i'll play those kind of modes.

get a bunch of friends together and play - really fun and you can shoot their horses out from under them

I played about an hour last night, seemed fun. I don't really get the point of the free roam mode, played mostly whatever the PvP mode is called. Usually I'm awful at multiplayer stuff, but I got the hang of it pretty quick.

^how do you initially get on the trail of a treasure hunt? is it something that opened up after a few of bonnie's missions or did you just set out looking? and for that matter, how far are you into the actual main story missions? I'd like to treasure hunt and get some money and outfits and perks/guns before i get too deep.

i got a random encounter (forget where), where i saved a treasure hunter and he "retired" and gave me his map.

also, i sold the first gold bar i got in the first treasure. i hope i wasn't supposed to keep it for anything...

i found the first treasure map when I stopped some guys robbing a guy (or killed everyone, both have happened, cant remember)

then i cheated by looking online for the location of that 2nd one

i, too, sold my gold bars, for like $100 and $125 or 150 ... as you get more treasures found the gold gets worth more

i noticed that if your horse is stopped on top of animals you've killed that it doesn't go through the whole skinning cinematic and saves some time

I have no idea. I know there are differences between horses you buy. This was part of a mission for bonnie and how you get your lasso weapon. Herding cattle and horses is hard as hell sometimes.

Anyone figured out exactly how to duel yet? I'm trying to shoot people's guns from their hands when I duel, and sometimes it works, but honestly I just cant figure out the right combination of buttons. Sometimes I can mark up his pistol but can't get it to fire, other times it won't even mark.

When I've done it it's pretty cool, you get a crapload of fame and a bunch of honor (even if the duel started because you were cheating at cards, lol). But half the time I wind up dead because I can't figure it out.

I only did one duel and i marked the dude's chest like 6 times with the aiming thing....my guy pulls out the gun and hammers him with 6 shots to the chest before the dude even gets his gun out....i laughed. I had no idea what I was doing though.

can someone break down the wanted level stuff for me, i haven't had too much time to really cause a scene so I'm trying to get an idea of what is what.

If you are out in the middle of nowhere and shoot someone does that send the law on you? even if you are seemingly by yourself?

Is there a search area that you can get out of that will cause the wanted level to go away like on GTA? or are you on the run pretty much until you can make it to town and pay off the bounty?

can you surrender and if so do you wake back up outside the town jail?

if you kill someone and there's a witness, a small witness blip is seen and you can either catch up to them and kill them or pay them off

after i lasso'd the movie theater guy, it said if i stood still i could surrender with my weapon holstered

I don't think you get a wanted level if no one sees you commit the crime. If they do, though, there's a posse sent out after you, you just have to avoid their big red search area on the map. I think they'll come after you once a day. I don't know what happens if you're caught -- probably jail time, lose some money. You can just go to the train station any time to pay off the bounty. I think people will also act differently towards you if you have a bounty, and you can't do missions for strangers.
