1050 seems a little high to me. I'm paying $950/mo for a 3/2 1600sqft near crabtree. Only thing missing is a garage. 12/23/2009 9:44:35 AM |

Thanks for the feedback, although I don't think it's possible to say whether rent is too high (or too low for that matter) w/o taking a look at the place.
If you search for "Deep Forest" on TWW and look at comparable asking rents for houses in this neighborhood, and take the time to read through the details and understand the living arrangements in some of them, I think you'll find that $1050 for a 3Br/2Ba is not unfair. You'll also find some nice comments about the neighborhood. I'm not claiming that your neighborhood in the Crabtree area is worse (or better) than my neighborhood near NCSU, but I would argue that making the comparison is not necessarily a fair way to gauge fair rent. (apples v. oranges)
Here's the search I referenced above: http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_search.aspx?type=posts§ion=5&searchstring=%22Deep+forest%22&username=&usertype=match&sortby=date&sortorder=descending&page=
Having said that, if someone who's interested in renting the place wants to take a look at it, and make a fair counter-offer, I'll consider it. 12/23/2009 1:22:23 PM |

^ Yep, and Granny Smith apples at Harris Teeter in Cary might be priced differently than red apples in Garner. (I honestly know less about apples than I do about oranges.)
Anyway, I've posted references to comparable rentals in the same neighborhood, demonstrating that the asking rent is not unreasonable. Additionally, I've stated that I'll entertain fair counter-offers. I think this is a reasonable approach. Let me know if you might be interested in the place.
Thanks for the bump. 12/23/2009 5:47:52 PM |
