I'm having a new years eve party and enclosing part of my carport kind of like they do with restaurant patios. I'm having a couple fires outside but wanted to somehow heat the carport too. Has anyone had experience with outdoor electric heaters. I know they're quite expensive. Can these be rented anywhere? Thanks! 12/24/2009 12:58:23 PM |

^ The free standing ones outside are propane, but if you have an enclosed space like they do at restaurants you have to have electric or you would have some very unhappy customers. 12/24/2009 1:25:37 PM |

again i don't really think you're supposed to use a propane heater in an enclosed space. 12/24/2009 11:29:17 PM |

they will produce some CO, but i doubt he's gonna have his carport sealed up airtight and he should be fine.
my dad used one in our shop for years. we'd just crack a window or two and never had any problems.

I have some thick industrial drop cloth i used for a slip-n-slide a while back. It's almost as thick as what they use at restaurants. Don't know how well it will keep the heat in but i already have it. Open to suggestions.
