I'm taking Texas 26-24

McCoy is good enough to beat the Tide if his line is able to give him any time back there. I'm not a believer in McElroy either. Sometimes he looks great, and sometimes he looks lost as fuck back there. You never know which QB is going to show up. If Texas' D can be effective against Ingram and put the put the game on him, they'll win.

Texas needs to avoid humiliation and just forfeit ahead of time.

Pretty good article on ESPN college football page about motivation and Mack Brown playing the underdog card with his team.

^^ wat?

Where did that come from? If Texas' O-line can play decent, they'll be able to run well enough to keep Bama's secondary honest.

texas doesn't have a running game. not even in the measly big12. colt mccoy is their running game.

maybe you don't understand this, but its almost impossible to block alabama period. Also, its exponentially harder to block a dline that knows they can run straight for the qb each time. Even if you have a good running game, cody is sitting right there taking up the whole middle and you're not running sideline to sideline on them period. Also alabama has a blitz game proper.

They'll have to hold bama under 13 to have any chance in this game. Something (out of all the great ds they played) only Tennessee was able to do.

Anybody who thinks colt mccoy will have time or be able to run is crazy.

There is no way in hell i'm watching the Bowl Computer Series "Championship Game". Perhaps the NCAA can manipulate the computer code to tell me what color underwear to pick today or which NBA team will win the playoffs this year.

^^ there are plenty of ways to counter Cody. He's only in the game for a little over half the snaps anyway, and if they run the hurry up, you can get him winded on top of limiting Bama's substitutions.

That's some great analysis. Texas should just head on home now and forfeit the game.

i hate the system more than anyone but to be fair, the voters 1 and 2 are the same as the bcs so you can't really emphasize the computers like they randomly picked something. Its a broken system all together.

^well the only team that scored more than 2 conventional tds on them all year had 8 months to prepare.

What makes you think Bama can score on Texas' D? GM had some absolutely awful games against decent defenses this year, so it is no guarantee that Bama will find the endzone. South Carolina held him to 92 yards passing with 2 picks. He is going to have to play out of his mind to move on the ball on the Longhorns.

I understand that and I'm not trying to take anything away from Alabama with regards to Florida. They played lights out that game. The problem is that McElroy's play that night seems to be the exception rather than the rule this season. Whenever they run up against a decent D, McElroy would struggle and Ingram would find some way to bail them out. I don't see that working out for Bama this time around.

^ True. But I don't think he has to be a world beater. Hell, as long as he doesn't throw it to the guys in orange more than once or twice I think Ingram and the defense will take care of the rest.

if your football analysis skills went beyond reading stats you would have noticed nobody in the big12 really runs the ball well.

whatever though, you keep calling me a troll yet I'm usually right. After bama DESTROYS texas, I will undeniably be the most knowledgable poster here and will make sure to rub it in your face.

I've been right too many times already...

I could really care less which team wins, but I guess I'm leaning more towards Bama just for the simple fact that Colt McCoy almost had the most bone headed play of the year and then the prick blames it on his O-line saying they had the wrong protection.

/Not convinced UT was the best team in Texas this year.

Look at the Horns schedule this year. One ranked team going into the bowls (Ok State which lost by two TDs to Ole Miss). Nebraska will be ranked at the end of the season now, but Texas should have lost to them.

Seriously TCU and Cincinnati played tougher schedules, but were hurt by the voters perceptions and preseason rankings. Alabama is going to crush Texas. Shipley is going to have to write a horrible country song about how much his ass hurts after this game.

As far as I am concerned Boise State has just as much right to be known as "National Champion" as
the winner of the so-called "National Championship Game" of the Bowl Computer Series

SEC is 5-0 in National Championship game
Big 12 is 2-4

Bama is 0-7-1 all time against Texas, last meeting in 1982

Current spread is Bama -4.5

i'm intrigued by this game, should be good. i think bama's D wins it for them though, especially if they play as well as they did against UF in atlanta.

27-16 bama

doesn't hurt that they play in the Big XII where every team runs a passing attack spread offense, and that they were in the lead most of the season, forcing teams to throw to catch up...Bama might rush for 250 as a team tonight

That whole Big 12 argument is overrated. The Big 12 attracts plenty of good running back talent and there are guys perfectly capable of running all over you on any given night.

Big XII teams pass a lot more than SEC teams

Texas has had the lead most of their season, and when teams are behind they are forced to throw more

We could argue this all day but the game will speak for itself

^^Thats what I was saying and can't wait to prove the earlier jerks in this thread wrong. Just a few more hours!

Also, Texas oline is not good at run block at all. sec lines explode off the snap and try to kill you. Texas line waits and keeps people from coming through and colt mccoys quick releases bail them out. They have good running backs they just have no block against big12 teams all season. They haven't even seen more than one real defense all season bama is like nebraska up front with a lot more speed off the edge and UNMATCHED athletcisim in the secondary and linebackers.

Going to be ugly.

I was in noboma this weekend and schools were closed today across the state.

Originally I had Bama fairly big, like 31-17, but McClain has had the flu all week, lost a lot of weight, still going to play but obviously not 100% and hes a HUGE part of the defense. Still think Bama will win, but a bit closer now
