I got a new one. The old one is a two-year-old original iPhone. What could I use it for? I mean I guess I could sell it, too. ideas?

screen has a crack down the right side. not shattered, just crack. still readable and everything; touch functions aren't affected. I've been using it for a year in its present state. i dont know how much it's worth. what would anyone wanna do with it?

20 bucks ... my wife can use it to check her email downstairs and play solitare (what she always wants me to use my iphone for)

Is it running 3.1?

Really though ... name your price here, if you plan to sell it.

I dont think I would pay more than 40 for it, with a crack in the screen.

depends on the crack for me.. i used one with a cracked screen for over a year and barely noticed it bc of how it was cracked. showing certain pictures though made it VERY obvious..but usually it was fine.

I use my old 1st gen as a remote that is hooked up to the Russound setup in our house with the Apple TV. So its really just a pretty remote. When people come over they love to be able to browse through all of the music.

Put it on eBay and describe in detail whats wrong with it.

Someone will buy it.

is there any reason to try and sell a busted iPhone? i have one that was essentially thrown against a wall (well dropped from a high enough distance its about the same)

screen is shattered but could be salvageable parts. should i just trash it or what?

yeah, sell on ebay or craigslist. You should be able to get at least $50 - $75 for it even with broken screen. Iphones hold their value well. I have seen water damaged iphones sell for a hundy.

damn, I shattered my screen this weekend.

I've dropped it dozens of times, but this time, i think it fell just right and the entire screen is all cracked to shit.

still works like a champ though.

I really really don't want to pay for a data plan, so I need to find one used.

you've got one with no data plan at all?

and yeah.. i've dropped mine 100 times but one of the softest falls cracked the back. nothing that really matters but still annoying.

Why did you keep one with a cracked screen for a year? Dont they replace them for things like cracked screens? Ive never read the policy, but I know a girl who had hers replaced 5-6 times for that or similar reasons (who knows, maybe she used her mouth).

How the fuck can you guys drop your phones so much? I've only dropped my iphone once, and it was from my seat to the carpet.

For shame.

yep, bought it from a coworker last year when the 3G came out. I just popped my SIM card in it, and it works like a champ. The downside is that if I do use EDGE, they charge me per Kb, so I'm just careful about only using internet apps while connected to wi-fi. I'm rarely in a situation where i'd need to use any data when i'm not near wi-fi so the $30/month data plan just isn't worth it for me.
