Here's the problem. I moved to Manhattan and no longer need it.
now for the physical issues.
paints a little faded. there's a leak in the transmission. so if you dont keep if filled it may start slipping when cold (I'm told its the "Rings")
there's no accidents on it. (the bottom of the front fender is a little scratched from me parking too close to the sidewalk)
brake rotors are ready to be replaced. you could have them resurfaced easily (the car stops fine.. just vibrates a bit)
i'm going to give it to a junk yard if nobody grabs it.
its an easy project.. a fix here, a fix there.. and its a great point A to B car.
AC & Heat and Cruise control work..

Yes some would consider it a beater... however some would consider it a bargain.
call meez. you can take it to a shop and have it checked out or whatever.. price is negotiable. I have title.

I got an offer for 650 from some random guy on CL..
however CL people have the tendency to flake on things like this.. so the auction is still open. 1/9/2010 9:16:28 AM |

Sounds like a good deal--in any case don't junk it, someone should jump on that. If I needed a cheap car I know I would. 1/10/2010 2:26:51 AM |

I had the "rings" go out on my avenger a couple years back. Very common issue for these cars unfortunately, but the upside is it will still run. Occasionally you'll get a transmission error code on your check engine light, but you can just turn the ignition off and restart the car to reset the code whilst you check the fluid level.
Also, my V6 gets about 330-350 miles per tank (highway) so they're excellent A to B cars while still having a little bit of power. Pushing 170k on mine ATM 1/10/2010 7:07:41 PM |

^^^ Depends on who you go to. Go to a well-known transmission shop and you'll get rung for around 2k. Go to a smaller, local shop and it'll probably be around 1500. They are a real pain to work on, which is why they cost a lot, but like I said you can get away with driving on a transmission with bad seals for a while before it just won't work at all. 1/13/2010 9:22:22 PM |
