Yeah I had a suspicion it was him. And he probably was Earl too.

Wish a mod had the balls to suspend him permanently.

I've never used an alias on this site the only names I have are rally, knute, and face. My posts are real, correct, and define things for those that can't do so themselves

It's funny because before the NBA season he was hating on John Wall and sucking the Heat off.

It's not even a month into the season and he's already changing his tune on both.

One week it's Sidney's/John Wall's/whoever's credibility and next its Rally time lol.

Huge fucking game for us it would put us on the national radar if we win.

If we lose the haters will come out in full force again saying we suck and our season is over.

Not having tracy is a huge handicap that we don't need. Cjl, painter, and howell have to step up and control the boards and not foul so much as we can't afford to play vandy tonight

They really controlled the glass out there and we stopped getting good looks in the 2nd half.

Its going to be tough for us to generate easy post offense until we get tracy back, but it should give our frontcourt depth a lot of valuable minutes and help us later in games where tracy gets in foul trouble.

Overall its hard to be disappointed with the effort, 3 games in 4 days we had to be fatigued and we just didn't know how to respond when they went on their run.

The team still looks solid and fun to watch though. Gtown might be a top 10 team this year so just getting to play them should help our rpi and tourney resume.

Its hard not to be concerned after yesterday's effort.

I dont see how we beat Wisconsin or Syracuse without Tracy Smith he was the one player we couldn't afford to lose.

Harrow needs some confidence because he's missing everything right now. CJ Leslie with another pathetic game, I'm scared we aren't going to get much of anything out of him this season.

The ACC overall is a lot tougher than I expected it to be with FSU, Clemson, and Maryland all playing well surprisingly.

If Smith comes back out of shape or unable to play at 100% we are in danger of missing the tournament. This is some total NC State shit that we finally get a good team and then lose our best player.

I am ready to rally around Sidney.

I do NOT think he is a good coach at this point in his career.

What I am willing to bet on is his ability to recruit at a high level and put together a team that can make NC State a team with ACC and NCAA championship potential.

Buy Lowe, sell high.

This team isn't quite good enough to win tough games, yet.

Sidney took this job in a HORRIBLE situation. Our program had consistent mild success and he took over a team that was losing talent, lost an entire top rated recruiting class, and he had no connections recruiting wise.

Look at the kind of talent he has plucked... Tracy Smith is a big time baller.

When it comes down to it, he's got NBA connections, a great program, great school support, a great venue.... he has a chance to produce year in year out classes that are elite.

If we start combining a few one and dones like Hickson, Wall, or Favors with top notch 3-4 year players like Harrow, Brown, Cothron we will be a team with potential to beat anyone.

I know it's not the slow, methodical, excrutiating process that Herb got you used to, but remember Valvano didn't win a title with slow white players.

I am willing to flat out guarantee we will make the NCAA tournament next year. We have 2 stud freshman committed who don't even project as starters. When has that ever been the case?

What evidence do you need?

-Wood is looking like a potential sharpshooter

-Howell is a complete beast who has yet to hone his skills

-Vandenburg is a quality player

-Javi Gonzalez went from a horrible PG to a guy whose Jr. year stats are comparable to Raymond Felton's. I will grant you he is not a natural or reliable PG like Felton was, but a no-name hispanic PG becoming an impact player in the ACC is not a frequent occurence. Harrow will disappoint next year, but will eventually become one of the best PG's the ACC has ever seen...

-- Degand went from a washout end of the bench type player to an attack mode, break down the defense weapon.

As much as I look like a genius for starting the "Sidney Lowe credibility thread" three years ago, my genius will prove true again in this one.

Flame on, I will be right in the end.

Well we had a really disappointing effort against Wisconsin but we really had no chance to win the game anyway so let's hope we got it all out of our system.

We're not beating Syracuse today obviously, but I want to see them make strides towards getting better today.

Offensively we aren't good without Tracy but if he returns healthy we're a pretty solid offense so I'm not that worried. Defensively we are just plain terrible right now and there's no excuse for it. Tracy, get better soon please this season is going nowhere without you. Our entire offense runs through his efficient scoring in the post and the way he demands double teams.

Harrow has been just plain awful so far. He can't shoot worth a fuck and he struggles defensively. What's really disgusting are his rebounding and steals numbers. If he's really so athletic and quick he needs to learn to become a productive player in those categories. Like I said in this thread earlier, I thought he'd be disappointing this year before he becomes a top notch PG later in his career, but I never thought he'd be this bad this year.

Lo Brown is still playing pretty well thankfully.

CJL as I feared wasn't ready for D1 basketball. He just doesnt have a good understanding of the game at this point. He needs to focus on playing without the basketball and going after rebounds, blocks, etc because he's just plain awful when he tries to drive from the perimeter. He needs to improve his leg strength a lot before he can play in the NBA, his athleticism is overrated right now with no vertical or explosiveness.

Painter, ugh... He gave us some quality minutes earlier this year but he looked so bad against Wisconsin that he's definitely still another year away from being productive.

Howell, jesus christ man you're our best player while Tracy is out you have to stop fucking fouling every 2 minutes. We can't win if he isn't committed to playing a lot of minutes. He has NBA potential but I can't tell if he's serious about basketball right now because he doesn't seem interested in staying on the floor sometimes.

Wood has to learn shot selection. When he's squared up he's a great shooter but he takes shots he's not capable of hitting a high percentage of the time. This Reggie Miller shit where he comes off the screen and lets it fly without even looking at the basket is just not going to fly in the ACC when we need to grind out tight wins.

Javy, was just plain awful against Wisconsin but he's still our leader and we're going to need him to turn this season around. Harrow obviously isn't ready to play in the ACC so we absolutely have to get Javy going again.

CJ Williams, this guy needs to get more minutes I think he can be a weapon for us especially while the freshmen learn their roles.

Vandenburg, he's 1-2 years away from being productive. If he had some leg strength or any agility at all he could be a role player this year.

Well im thinking more about how weak his drives have been, we thought he'd be taking it to the basket and dunking but he's really pulling up with awful jumpers or taking it to the basket weak and throwing up garbage... we need him to get his legs under him and finish.

What a great bounceback performance, we had no business being in that game with a shot to win. You have to give a lot of credit to Lowe for having us ready to face their zone and almost pulling off a miracle win.

Wood with an epic collapse there starting 4-4 and finishing 2-13 for some reason he's been terrible in the clutch so far in his career. Still it's encouraging to see him making shots this year, we just need to find other options late because he's not the guy you want shooting late in the game.

Great bounceback from Javy to lead the team he really played great today.

The obvious story of the game is CJ Leslie coming alive and being the best player on the court today. That was a terrific performance, he's doing what we need and working without the ball in his hands. He's used to having the ball in his hands from high school but he has to break that habit if he wants to be successful at this level.

Also I want to compliment Vandenburg for really playing some quality minutes today and altering so many shots. That's encouraging and I think he'll be ready to step in next year when we lose Tracy.

I think one thing that contributed to Wood losing his touch was he had to be exhausted. He pretty much played the entire game.

I don't get the love for Vandy at all, we were way more effective when Painter was in the game. It was nice to see Leslie have a really good game, but he still makes a bunch of boneheaded mistakes. Brown was mostly disappointing today. If we can squeak out a win against Arizona, that would take a lot of pressure off the team.

Painter did have a good game I forgot to mention him in my initial post. He definitely helped us out inside though I'd like to see him get better at protecting the glass as he gave up a lot of easy buckets early. Overall, he's made some good strides and I still think he can be a net positive player next season if he keeps working hard.

Vandenburg on the other hand was an effective defender today and that's a great sign. He just needs to keep working so that his body catches up with his skillset. His coordination, strength, and athleticism are lacking for an ACC big man and that is what keeps his skillset from being a factor. He's definitely heading in the right direction though...

I haven't seen any real "love" for Vandy at all. Vandy has to play b/c Painter and Howell keep getting in foul trouble, and Tracy is out. I don't think anyone would advocate Vandy over Painter, but Vandy kinda hhas to put in some decent minutes. And if he's staying in front of his man and re-directing shots and getting rebounds and not looking like a total spaz, then I'm happy with his play.

How to make the NCAA tournament:

We either need 8-8 with 2 ACC-t wins or 9-7 with 1 ACC-t win to make the tournament (10-6 would probably do it as well but I don't see that happening)

Here's the layout:

Step 1: Win at home vs Wake

Step 2: Win 1 of the next 3 @BC, @FSU, vs Duke

Step 3: Win at home vs Miami

Step 4: Win 1 of the next 4 @Clem, @UNC, vs VT, @Duke

Step 5: Win @ Wake

Step 6: Win 1 of the next 3 vs Clem, @UMD, vs UNC

Step 7: Win 2 of the next 3 vs GT, @UVA, vs FSU

8-8 looks inherently doable. To win 9 games we need to just sneak one extra win in there somewhere without missing any of the steps.

If we miss any of the steps we have to sneak another win in there somewhere which will be difficult. This was not a great year for us to have such a difficult ACC schedule and be sans Tracy for our non conference games, but we can overcome this if we focus and play to our potential.

Two of those three teams aren't even any good. If we hope to make the NCAAs we better take at least one of those!

This could quite possibly the worst ACC of our lifetime. If we can't win 9 games in this conference in this year, we simply aren't deserving of being in the NCAA Tourney.

^ Right, which is why it wasn't a great year for us to have such a good schedule.

I knew the ACC was going to be weak this year and that's why I thought this team could compete for a tourney bid.

What I didn't realize was that our schedule would be so tough. The ACC isn't going to have the credibility for a 8-8 team to be an easy bid selection, so it really makes our tourney chances slimmer.

If we had Tracy healthy and had 1 or 2 of those non-conference losses as wins, we could use our schedule/RPI ranking to slide in with less results.

Also, you have recently joined the unrealistic posters on this board. We are highly unlikely to beat Duke and I think you know that. To act like we are supposed to beat BC and FSU back to back on the road with this young team while we work Tracy Smith back into the lineup is just silly and I think you know that also. Hence, we need to win 1 of the 3 games. 2 is HIGHLY unlikely, we are about 50/50 to win one of three for god's sake.
