after troubleshooting for the past 3 hours, i have run out of self helping options
the facts - i have a nook - i have a library that provides audiobooks in mp3 & wma formats that i can download online for my use - i understand my nook will not support wma - i own a mac (which i use adobe digital editions to get ebooks onto my ereader with) - i own a netbook running windows xp (which i am trying to use overdrive on to listen to these audiobooks either on my netbook or with a windows dedicated ipod) - i have a spare (old) ipod on hand that i can keep dedicated to a windows format for use with overdrive & the wma format (this is my intention anyway) - i made sure my software was up to date on the netbook - i installed overdrive for pc's from my library website - i have windows media player 11 installed & its up to date - i have an up to date version of itunes installed on my netbook, totally new, no files, no music or pictures or anything else random on the netbook. up to this point i have only used it for internet purposes
my problem - i am trying to download an audiobook from my library website. when i click to download, it auto opens the overdrive software. a "get media" box pops up with my library's banner on it, explaining what i am downloading (title, format, folder). i click ok and the following error message pops up
"Error 0xC00D2782: A problem has occured in opening the Digital Rights Management data storage file. Contact Microsoft product"
so i do some googling and find this
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/webhelp/default.aspx?&mpver=11.0.5721.5145&id=C00D11E2&contextid=71&originalid=C00D2781
while the error code doesn't match, the problem does so i follow all the instructions they have there (including all the steps involved in resetting the DRM)
i've done multiple restarts to make sure everything is installed and i'm still getting the same error message as before
maybe i am missing something, maybe i have my information on what im doing messed up somewhere. i've done a lot of searching trying to even get to this point and now i can't even get the damn file to download
can anyone help me troubleshoot further? 1/21/2010 11:05:37 PM |
