This is in Wake County. Trying to help a minor out, and all the topics on this are several years old. I'm sure there are a lot of people on TWW that have had this problem.

i wouldn't have guessed this angle but with lewoods you never know - is his plan to sue the people that allowed him to become in possession of the alcohol in the first place?

if its the first one, dont waste time and money with a lawyer. just do the first offenders program.

if this "friend" is a dumb fuck and gets caught repeatedly, then hire said lawyer.

Is he a student at State? If he is he can go to Student Legal Services and talk to them.

go through the safetylight? program

its like the 40/42 program or something like that.

they give you a workshop to attend and drop the case.

it costs but its worth it

I am 27, it would be impossible for me to get a possession ticket since I can have alcohol.

No suing, just making a ticket go away.

back when i got a ticket, I did the 90-90 program. First Saturday, about 40 of us waited outside in the 20 degree weather for the 'teacher' to show. Never came. We left by 9:30

Second Saturday, the lady shows up. It's this older (50 something maybe?) hardcore, large black lady. She was a lot like Madea, for serious. It was entertaining as hell to listen to her stories and profanity.

^^when he asked me how i heard of him i told him i got it from this site. he said that he is familiar with it and has helped a few people from here. he then told me his normal fee was X and he'd just charge me Y but to send him some business some time.

I have since PM'd many twwers and made sure they went to see him and sent many friends. My friends who never mentioned tww had a higher price for the same offense

doesnt need to do anything but pay it. its an infraction

the only thing a lawyer is going to do is something anyone can do themselves...which is to have their record expunged.

problem is you can only do that once. i would wait until later in life to use the expungement since the drinking ticket is a laughable offense and something more frowned upon could happen to them in their less mature years.

im not a lawyer by any means, but i did it so i know something about it.

^^ so you've never applied for a federal job?

expungement does nothing but get it off your general record. That shit is still up there if you apply for a federal job.

actually it blocks it from both federal and state background checks.

not to mention it is an infraction that wont stop you from getting a job.

ive never applied for a job

WRONG. Underage drinking in NC is a class 1 misdemeanor, if you plead guilty for the rest of your life you will likely have to disclose it on any type of application that asks or be disqualified. Being a cheap ass over $100 (in lawyer fees over and above the cost of the ticket) is really stupid in this situation.

I second Berryman J. Fitzhugh, III. AHAHA, that names always makes me laugh.

But, seriously, with Trey, I always felt that I was getting the soundest, fairest, most professional representation available. He made all my legal troubles practically painless--like, my dad and I would just go visit Trey for a bit and then go have breakfast and talk about how lucky we were to have discovered such a perfect attorney.

And from comparing stories with friends, I've learned that his fees are competitive and affordable, too.
