i think band of horses is opening for that show

last show i went to was philly with sleater-kinney

i dunno... all the smoking, drinking and age seems to have finally caught up to eddie in the past 3 years, tho they still manage to pull off a different setlisted long-ass show every night... new album was best they've done in a long time

oh cool. pearl jam keeps refusing to schedule dates south of the DC area. i'd probably go see them in raleigh or charlotte if they'd actually play there, but i'm sure the setlist would be heavy on the backspacer side. i listened to that album so many times, and i can't stand it. i'd listen to binaural or riot act over backspacer any day.

Bristow is right outside of DC

I saw them close out the spectrum in Philly earlier this year and it was quite possibly the most amazing shows I've ever seen. I don't care how many smokes or classic bottles of Ed's red Vedder drinks-boys still have it

i don't think mccready gets too crazy anymore off of the booze/drugs... he had a serious substance abuse problem combined with the crohn's disease and had to quit a lot of that stuff in the late 90s

eddie on the other hand, just kept getting wilder with his brain, which is why binaural and riot act are so friggin' layered with wierdness

that and matt cameron added a different take on things that made it a bit darker... even though the "dave a" was the most successful version, i think that the jack irons incarnation was the best studio version of the band

i think i read in an interview that he stopped smoking after he was diagnosed with crohn's. i read somewhere else that he used to get blackout drunk and pull his pants down and run around in hotels with his dick flopping around so they used to have to carry him off to his room.

They still do seniority, just the first two or three rows are picked randomly I think. In my first year I got awesome seats in Columbia.

they played present tense at the last show i was at and it was probably one of the most awesome displays of badassery these eyes have ever seen.

that's cool. i had heard they stopped doing seniority altogether, so i got kind of pissed about waiting in line all day at bonnaroo 2 years ago for a spot in the pit to see pearl jam since i thought i'd never be able to see them that close again. i guess the odds of me randomly getting seats that close ever again are pretty slim though.

1st, 2nd, 9th, and 10th rows are random. Everything else is priority-based. And the Ten Club usually has all of the best seats in the house reserved.

Starting to get PUMPED about this. Probably going to get up there and all-day tailgate since I heard parking is a bitch up there, and I have to go pick up my tickets around lunch-time or so anyway.

Anyone else going?

i'm meeting Officer Cat up there, but gotta go to columbia, md first... we've got 10c tix too... so i guess we'll see where we end up

i am also concerned about the traffic to this joint... it's a shame they couldn't play the merriweather instead... guess we're just gonna leave raleigh way early to make sure we can get back from maryland to va before the car shitstorm happens

used to be traffic only got crap bad in like Alexandria, but now that junk extends all the way near Fredricksburg

I love the song "Of the Girl" so much. I just wish they'd truly tour the Southeast again rather than a couple of shows.
