He's a pretty good guy in The Station Agent. Peter Dinklage is in the same movie, so it's cool seeing him as someone other than Tyrion in Game of Thrones.

People complain about spoilers from a book that came out 16 years ago.

last night was intense. The way storylines began connecting was almost Wire-esque in it's seasons' final hours. I loved seeing Gillian get what she asked for and forcing Harrow out is going to only make it worse. I was nervous during almost every scene

Last night was a good building up episode. The finale showed be awesome.

I can't believe the power that Gyp has. I feel like he barely has Masseria's blessing in all this.

Glad to see Al Capone get a rise. I'm sure Mueller/Van Alden told him about what Nucky controls in AC and the potential business he can bring as an ally. Plus, Torrio is still an ally of Nucky's.

I was getting really excited when they showed Harrow getting his guns ready with the war drums playing. I am expecting nothing short of heartless badassness. I just hope it ends well for him. He deserves a bit of happiness too with Julia and Tommy.

I promise this will absolutely come into play next week (or next season). They didn't include that scene on the beach showcasing Masseria's hesitation in backing Gyp for no reason.

Also, another potentially MAJOR Chekhov's Gun to keep in the back of your mind: Tonino, Gyp's lieutenant. The guy whose cousin Gyp brutally murdered on the beach just two episodes ago and who in this episode Gyp told to "shut the fuck up." For some silly reason, Gyp still seems to trust Tonino as his right-hand man. I can just about guarantee Tonino will betray Gyp and assist in getting him murdered before season's end because, again, they don't include these things for no reason. I definitely don't think Tonino will pull the trigger when Gyp is killed, but I think he'll help somebody get to Gyp.

My prediction: when Gyp is at the cathouse in a room with Gillian, he'll have Tonino blocking the door. This will happen while Richard is going all Clint Eastwood on the cathouse. Richard will come for Gillian, Tonino (after thinking about it for a second) will slide on over and let Richard through, and Richard will kill both Gillian and Gyp while they're in the midst of one of Gyp's fucked up fetishes. Could be way off, but that's my prediction.

Also, last night's episode was one of the best, most intense, most suspenseful episodes of the entire series. Well done. So many awesomely gratifying scenes, like Richard Harrow laying out his arsenal, every single scene involving Chalky and Nucky, and Capone poking through the crowd and ending the episode in such a badass way (paraphrasing b/c I can't remember it word for word): "We've been on the road for 18 hours. I'm gonna need a shower, some grub...then me and you are gonna sit down, and we're gonna talk about who dies, eh?"

The dude that plays capone does a tremendous job

I'd say there are many plus performances

Harrow
Capone
Rothstein
Van alden
Chalky (omar)
Gyp

"We've been on the road 18 hours. I need a bath, some chow and then you and me sit down. Then we talk about who dies."

Agreed. A's for Jack Huston, Stephen Graham, Michael Stuhlbarg, Michael Shannon, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Bobby Cannavale. Shea Whigham (Eli), Vincent Piazza (Lucky), Anatol Yusef (Lansky), and Stephen Root (Gaston Means) also do a great job, not to mention Buscemi. Quite possibly the best ensemble cast in television (even over Game of Thrones...not counting Breaking Bad since that's a smaller cast; Mad Men is debatable).

[Edited on November 27, 2012 at 3:15 AM. Reason : gaston means]

I think there is a chance that Gillian will choke Gyp to death when/if they have sex. pretty sure they showed a clip of them getting into bed in the preview of the finale

maybe she'll stick him with some heroin and Richard will blow his head off as Gyp is trying to attack her. and for saving her life he'll take Tommy and leave for good.

Maybe Richard will kill both Gillian and Gyp while they're in the middle of one of his crazy fetishes. Maybe Tonino will be guarding the bedroom they go into to bone and he'll let Richard by since he probably detests Gyp at this point. Tonino is going to come into play somehow when Gyp meets his demise.

I thought about that. But to me, if Gyp dies somewhere other than captured by Nucky or in some kind of blazing show down involving Nucky, I would find it a little anticlimactic. It just doesn't seem right that he would die by Harrow in the brothel. Their paths never really crossed. Although it makes me wonder back to what the significance of the Nucky/Harrow scene earlier in the season was about. The one where Nucky asked Harrow how many people he's killed.

I was thinking that Masseria might have a change of heart about him and off Gyp himself. Not HIMSELF, but have one of his own guys off him from the inside.

I'd also not mind if Nucky somehow reached out to Tonino and offered him protection and a job if he got to kill Gyp.

"Richard has become one of the fan favorite characters, and his rampage through the Commodore's house in the finale is one of the most memorable sequences of the finale, if not of the entire series. People keep waiting for the moment when he's going to go work for Nucky so he can become even more prominent. I know you love Jack Huston and this character, but what do you do now with him at this point?

That remains to be seen in season 4. All of what you've said is true: he's a fan favorite, he's a favorite of ours. You do want to see more of him, you do want to see him and Nucky together, and we're well aware of that, and possibly that's what'll happen in season 4.

^^^^^ I have zero desire to see Harrow working for Nucky. I don't think Nucky is even likable at this point. Harrow could almost "ride off into the sunset" after what he did, and it would be one of the best endings for a character I've ever seen.

I'm glad Tonino got to off Gyp.

So... the dealings:
1. Doyle baits Rothstein for Nucky.
2. Nucky gives Rothstein 99% of the brewery in exchange for getting Masseria to remove his support for Gyp.
3. Rothstein robs Luciano out of 50lb of heroin and persuades Masseria into a partnership with it if he removes his men from under Gyp.
4. Mellon, who I take it is still the legal owner of the brewery, calls the feds to raid his brewery and claims his property has been overrun by Rothstein(?)

...so Rothstein is about to get fucked next season because he left Nucky out to dry.

Chalky gets his black night club on the boardwalk.

What does Capone get out of helping Nucky? Did they ever say?

Harrow can go in pretty much any direction the writers want at this point. So that should be interesting.

Are we to assume Gillian died? I know the other dude OD'd from the same heroin dose earlier.

I hope Margaret bleeds out from her abortion.

why did Capone and Chalky kill all of Masseria's men? i feel like i missed something. the deal was to call off the men but was it a preemptive strike by Nucky to wipe out a lot of Masseria's muscle?

thoroughly enjoyed that finale.

Capone behind the machine gun was magic.

I too had questions about masserias' men being wiped out. That will surely piss him off.

I don't think nucky or anyone else is worried about pissing Masaria off. Those men were in atlantic city, armed to the teeth literally "hunting" nucky, chalky and anyone associated with them for weeks.

I bet Tonino becomes a big character next season. He seemed to become a small fan favorite by the end of the season. It was nice of Nucky to let him go, but I don't think he should have.

I think Harrow refusing to come in the house after dropping Tommy off was symbolic of him knowing that he won't ever be able to have a normal family life. He is a killer and a soldier, and he knows it. Even though Nucky said no one comes near them that they don't already trust, I think Harrow ends up being a sort of contract killer on Nucky's outer circle to do all his really dirty work on the down low. Unlike Owen, who was his right hand man, Harrow will be kept at a bit of a distance. For some reason, I also see Harrow and Chalky making a good team going forward even though I can't remember them ever crossing paths.

Also, is the soccer ref in this Dance Central 3 commercial Joe Masseria?:

the gunning down of Masarino's men serves to weaken him dramatically. with limited to muscle, he is not going to be able to impose his will on AC and Nucky anymore, like he did with Gyp. this will allow Nucky to operate freely. Capone will likely become Nucky's sole distributor (like Rothstein was supposed to be).

Finally got around to seeing the season finale and thought it was awesome.

Only problem I had: Where was Van Alden? Last we saw, Capone was sticking a fork into his face telling him that he works for him now. I was kinda hoping we'd see Van Alden come out with Capone as one of his henchmen and Nucky doing a double take but alas, I guess we'll have to wait until next season to find out.
