Old thread was dead.

I'm thinking of moving in a couple of months. Lived for two years at Lincoln Green but it may be time for a change. Suggestions?

Crowne Gardens just caught fire a few days ago. I think the damage was minimal, only 3 or 4 apartments. Hunt's View on Battleground is pretty nice. It's quiet and the staff does a good job maintaining the grounds.

I work near exit 210 on I-40 so I'm looking for anything that's about a 10 mile commute or less.

I lived at Bridford Park about 5 years ago and it was pretty nice and quiet.

I, too, may be looking for a place in G-boro. Working at PTI, I want somewhere nice, close and quiet. By quiet I mean I don't want them running fucking leaf blowers every single week whether it's needed or not and I would really like to find a place that is responsible and has recycling. Somewhere with access to trails and/or greenways would be awesome. This all may be asking way too much of Greensboro.

One thing about the New Garden/Battleground area is the access to 73 and the loop. Makes getting to the airport, 68 or Winston a lot easier.

I'm not sure about recycling at Hunts View. I know some of the dumpsters are designated as recyclable only, but after a few months here I saw the same truck pick up the regular dumpster and the recyclable one one right after the other.

As far as trails and greenways there is the Guilford Courthouse area that has several walking trails. Bur-Mil park and Lake Higgins is right up the road. There are several trails, fishing, and a par 3 course there.

I lived in Kensington Place on Battleground for 2 years. Pretty cheap 1 BRs, nice size, pool, hot tub. However I have heard that they are under new management now and the new management company are dicks, so you'll have to play that one by ear.

Also, when you get ready to move PM me and I will hook you up with internet.

^^ Haha. Hunt's View. . .I dated a girl that works in their office, so that would make things a little...weird perhaps, but I certainly liked the look of the place and they have nice tennis courts.

I am also moving to Greensboro in the fall and was curious about the apartments in the area. I am working in the Wachovia building so I would like to be close to downtown but in a good area. I don't know if that is possible?

The downtown appartments are expensive, but if you get a place on Battleground it's pretty much a straight shot to downtown. 10-15 minute commute depending on the lights.

I used to work in the building right next to the Wachovia building when I lived on Battleground and never had any issues getting to work within 15 minutes.

And again, PM me when you are getting ready to move and I will hook you up with internet

Do most apartments now charge a monthly pet fee in addition to the big fee you pay initially to have a pet?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look at Hunt's View on the weekend. A couple of places I saw online that I'd like opinions on are Cardinal, Westborough and Abbington.

I'm definitely going to miss just crossing the street to get to Guilford Courthouse Park though

^^ How come? Feel free to answer in a PM since even though this is the Lounge and it is supposed to be a bit more mature than Chit Chat, as you can see it sadly isn't and I don't aim to derail this thread into our personal narrative that doesn't involve anyone else.

While the agent was showing me around Autumn Park, a lady in one of the apartments found that her car had been broken into!

I'm probably fine with High Point as well if it's a nice area.

I just moved to Alexandria Park in High Point. Brand new phase and I'm paying less than people living in the older buildings. Very nice area, near the Palladium and any food venue you could possibly want. It's about a 7 minute drive to get to Wendover Ave.

There's lots of cheap & nice stuff around Guilford College. New Garden area is getting really gentrified/spawly really quick.

Thanks for the tips about 68/Wendover. I saw a couple of the apartments today and I'm probably going to move there.

Alexandria Park is the best apartment complex in High Point...for now...because it's only a matter of time.
