^^ Doesn't explain the spoiler ...
Fenders protrude little more to me. Has a sedan (non-hatch) look too.
And doesn't match this profile of the "old" STI:

I like the current model. I wish the "wagon" or "hatch" model actually had a bigger storage area than the regular sedan but it doesn't.
I guess i really wish there was a legacy gt with brembo brakes. 3/30/2010 8:35:06 PM |

Subaru has confirmed the car will boast an impressive 400PS (395bhp) at 5,750rpm, sufficient to dispatch the 0-62mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds (compared to 300PS / 296bhp at 6,000rpm,and 5.2 seconds for the standard Impreza WRX STI). This ensures the Cosworth Subaru Impreza STI CS400 will be one of the most accelerative all-wheel-drive hatchbacks" |

I like it, but the lack of a horsepower increase is pretty lame. Around anything but a very tight track a Camaro SS will mop the floor with an STI, for $5k less. 4/2/2010 12:22:12 AM |

I want dat 360 Challenge Stradale son. Sub-2700lbs (Hell, it's barely over 2600lbs dry) is where the real fun lies son.
Shit son, even the springs are made out of titanium to reduce weight. I've always been impressed by the 360 Challenge race car (The looks, the fact that the engine sounds so sickeningly bad ass, etc) and thus I've wanted a Challenge Stradale since I first saw one. That car is a serious piece of engineering artwork. ] 4/2/2010 1:32:19 AM |

^^I'm inclined to agree with you, Chevy and Ford have done a great job! However, my beef with Subaru and Mitsubishi is that while the performance has stayed the same for the last 8 years or so, the prices have gone up up up 4/2/2010 8:53:59 AM |
Skack All American 31140 Posts user info edit post |
Oh yeah...Not a fan of the price increases. I'd like to attribute it to amenities and R&D costs on the drivetrain systems, but I can't help but to think that they've gone a little overboard.
The new WRX at ~$27k is a nice alternative to the STi's inflated price. It's hard not to notice the irony that the only reason the WRX is $27k is because it's own price has gone up so much in recent years though.

Yeah, I bought my '04 for $23K brand new. It's gone up SIGNIFICANTLY. Of course, there are a lot more features than mine ever had. And better performance. So, there's not much room to complain. But, if I was in the market, not sure if I'd want to dish out that much.

7:55 at the ring?!?! that's quickest of any sti/evo yet.
the evo ix ran something like 8:07 i believe. evos of every generation are faster than the respective sti, and the evo x wasn't really an improvement over the ix.
priced at just under 34k. cheaper than the 2008. this might be the best bang for your buck car yet. new of course... 9/20/2010 8:40:40 AM |

It does indeed.
Ahmet and I had a talk about this lap time yesterday. He pointed out that the Japanese tend to be a little less truthful. In the pictures you can clearly see the car has a spliter. I'm sure it's the official STI splitter which will undoubtedly be available from Subaru. I doubt they're running r-comps, but I guess I wouldn't be blown away if they did.

yeah "magazine times" for 0-60 and 1/4 mile on an AWD car are usually skewed because they are beating the piss out of the drivetrain 10/1/2010 1:38:06 AM |
