I'm getting intermittent O2 sensor errors, hoped they would be covered under CPO. They are expensive to have replaced out of warranty. Even if I decided to replace them myself the actual sensors are pricey.

I get a SES light, when I read the codes using INPA I get 2 codes related to the O2 Sensors. I've cleared them and they have not come back yet.

I am looking to get an E93.. is there any difference between the 07,08 and 09 model years? 07s much cheaper than 09 with the same miles.. I am looking to spend about 30-35k.. any advice?

I changed my throttle map on the cobb from stock to linear and it made a huge difference. I also have less wheel spin. color me happy. had a new mustang gt with a young kid try to follow me on my tripple spot today and he was disappointed i am sure. i love this damn car. it is a total sleeper.

Is CPO really that important even for a 2 year old car with like 20k miles on it? CPOs are a lot more expensive..Does the roof require a lot of maintenance?

I don't, but coming from M3s and M5 I can tell you that I miss it badly! You have '07 and if it is early build it will have unwelded diff which is cheaper for wavetrac ppl to un/install. Look into wavetrac...i think with install and core return my quote was $1300?

You shouldn't pay more than $2k difference for CPO car. If car is 2 years old and 20k I might skip on CPO as you have enough time in bumper to bumper warranty. All '07 are now nearing expiration of CPO, so look for 08 and up if you want CPO.

On an '07, if it was still under warranty, you could then get the BMW factory extended warranty, right? As I remember, it isn't terribly expensive.

I'm interested to see the next-generation 1M. Particularly if the next M3 is going to be turbocharged, too, there might not be a very compelling reason to go for the M3 over the 1M.

Only 4 years or newer BMWs with less than 60k are eligible for CPO. If you are past that mileage BMW will not certify it. I'm pretty certain that you cannot extend true bumper to bumper BMW warranty past 4/50k.

F80 M3/F82 M4 will almost certainly be turbo 6. Whether inline or V is yet to be seen.

New nomenclature is retarded.

335i coupe will now be 435i coupe
335i sedan will now be 335i sedan

all sedans stay 3 series. all coupes becom 4 series, much like 5er and 6er are divided.

If you're buying a car with only 20k miles/< 3 years old, it just matters how long you're going to have it. If you're planning on keep it past factory, I'd strongly encourage you to get the CPO. There's all kinds of shit that can break on these cars that can cost $2k, much of which a CPO will protect you against. Also it's obviously worth more on the open market with that warranty. Personally I was very happy to get my 07 from a dealer with a CPO. It had new tires, and was in near perfect shape when I picked it up. That's worth a premium over private party right there, as is getting to choose between attractive financing (think I got 1.9% or 2.9%) or maintenance till 100k thrown in for free (at least those were the CPO deals going on in Feb when I got mine). And if you look long enough, and look within 500 miles North or West, you can find some great deals on CPO vehicles...so you don't necessarily have to pay more.

You mean they're nearing expiration on their factory warranty right? My 07 CPO has just under 2 years of CPO left.

No. I mean they are nearing end of CPO. Bumper to bumper warranty is 4 years. Most '07 (obviously not all) that were bought end of '06/beginning '07 are now getting up in the mileage or based on age.

15k-20k/year is 60-80k miles by now. Most will be out of bumper to bumper warranty and quite a few will be nearing CPO based on mileage, not years. My is 08/06 build and CPO is done in 11 months or 20k (im at 80k miles now).

I guess mine is outside the norm. It was purchased new 9-07, so i have almost two years left on CPO, and the mileage is only 43k currently (obviously under the norm).

Isn't 15k the norm these days (up from 12k)? Given that, I'm not sure the miles on the average one will run out before the years. 15k * 6 = 90k.

Yours is definitely below average in terms of mileage. '07s stared selling mid of 2006. That’s 5 years of driving (75k if you go by 15/year). 335i owners being mostly young to middle age men drive even more ( http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/ohim/onh00/bar8.htm ).

Regardless, I'd recommend for '08+ not only because of length of warranty, but number of other things...

-Oil cooler(though most of the '07 have been fixed by now)
-HPFP failed in higher percentage on '07 and '09.
-ECU/DME hardware updates from 03/08+ build dates
-6mm ('07) vs 8mm ('08+) waste gate actuator lever pin

I was quoted at 3 grand for 2 new highlight assemblies, and said fuck that I can get aftermarket angel eyes for much cheaper.

e46fanatics is probably a better place to look for this, but any of yall have ideas of what I should get? I'll need entirely new assemblies because there's a leak in one, and the other is just shitty.

wanna keep it under a grand for part ideally, want them to look good and be white colored (none of that yellow/blue shit).

Say can you buy a car from a private seller, an 08/09 model with about 30k miles on it.. can you just pay $2k and get CPO warranty on it to cover it till 100k miles?

^^^^^^ What's the deal with HPFP failures after warranty? Is BMW doing any sort of recall or anything and covering it, or are you boned if you have a turbo BMW without a warranty?

Doubt it...didn't the US only get 1,000 of them? People are always comparing other cars to them like they can go out and get a 1M for a reasonable price, which I've always figured wasn't the case

i hear on e90post that there is a new pump that should be the final fix for the hpfp, i will believe it when i see it. every day i am glad i bought this car. some days happier than others.

i got a great deal and have a 3rd party warranty that came with it that is good to 118k or 2017. i have looked into it and it is going to cover what i need covered. the only thing not is the nav and stereo. the guy i bought mine from bought his from a nissan dealership. nissan of america handles the warrenty and guess what, they cant work on bmw so my contract states all work to be done at a bwm dealer and not a bmw "service center". it covers the turbos which was my biggest concern, they say they do not cover the turbo housing unless it is damaged. i talked to bmw and they said they will only replace the whole turbo. i asked nissan and they said if bmw says they replace it all that is what they pay bmw to do. the win for the guy that bought it is he paid for a 325i warranty. he later contacted the dealership about is paper work and they called nissan of america and they said they will support the warranty fully though they will not now warranty a 335. lots of winning all around. i only have 46k on it now so i hope to keep it a while. damn i love flogging this bitch.

Yes they look cool, But usually when headers glow they're either made out of crappy materials (too thin or poor alloy), or the timing in the engine is retarded (in both meanings of the word).

F1 cars can do it because of the really cool (inconel or something similar) alloys AND their engines rev to 18000 rpm. Not to mention the headers are routed so they don't heat up anything important.

if that engine was in an actual m3 without uber heat shields that sucker would be boiling the fluid in the front shocks.

I didn't know they had tubular equal length exhaust manifolds stock.

Let alone ones that were pressure molded to varying thicknesses depending on location and heat expansion.

Seriously though... nice headers..., this must have been a torture test for them because i stand by the fact that glowing orange means they're between 1200 and 2000* F which you don't want in your car... ever.

they also didn't used to make fuel pumps that die every 30k miles either.

BTW ferrari lambo and audi light cars on fire for the same reason all the time... this should add to the prestige of bmw if anything.
