Shouldn't easter be a bigger holiday than christmas? i mean everyone is born but isn't easter what makes jesus different than all the other people god chose in the bible? like Moses, and daniel and shit?

Christmas is bigger because it has also turned into a secular holiday.

If you look at countries with serious business Catholics in it like Indonesia, Easter I would argue is much bigger there than Christmas.

Easter is already largely secular in the US, and becomes more so with every passing year.

yeah because they had a totally different calendar. I don't buy that spring time crap though. They were in africa, its always spring/summer.

This was the first year I didn't get Good Friday off as a calendar holiday. Pretty much the same for a lot of other people I know. Granted Good Friday isn't Easter, but companies still give a Monday off when July 4th falls during the weekend as an example. I guess business are in the clear though, since Easter is always on Sunday.

it was pretty awesome when they gave us black people day in january, a mere two weeks after being off for half a month and took away good friday, which just so happened to break up the long stretch between winter break and memorial day

This too was my experience. Except they still wanted to offend people so they gave us President's Day in lieu of Good Friday. President's Day. Who gets President's Day off? Bankers that get days off like the Governor's Dog's Birthday Day.

You can either enjoy a nice spring day free from work to relax and recharge your batteries or you can sit inside because it's still 20 degrees out and grumble when you've got that long wait until Memorial Day.

Or just take some vacation Which was their master plan all along... to get accrued vacation off the books. It's a conspiracy.

Religiously speaking it is. My church is normally more crowded for Easter than Christmas, and it's a much bigger deal according to the clergy and whatnot.
