to each their own, but why the hell would you wear that if you are go-karting??? couldn't she have worn a loose shirt, trousers, and a headscarf?

and i am surprised the go-kart place allowed her to get into one wearing a one-piece head to toe loose flowing robe. don't those places have safety rules?

anyway, being such a strict Muslim, she shouldn't have been go-karting, quite clearly an activity of infidels. Allah said.... "I will teach thee a lesson for imitating infidels."

probably because she was afraid she might be beaten if she didn't wear it

I wouldn't call this a Darwin Award because those are given out for doing something utterly stupid. Before getting all, "hurr, religion is stupid", this was a random accident like the other woman mentioned at the bottom of the article.

Quote :
"Her death is being likened to that of American dancer Isadora Duncan, acknowledged as being the creator of modern dance, and who was famous for the flowing silk carves she liked to wear.

But while riding in an open-top car in Nice in 1927, her scarf became entangled in one of the vehicle's spoked wheels and she was strangled."

lol... I didn't notice that comparison.

Doesn't that qualify for her for two [fail] awards.... First, for dying, second for getting compared in death to an infidel who is credited with the creation of that vulgar modern dance style that all the devout kids hate

I was thinking about how much I love to pick my nose while driving. It would suck to die in a wreck bc my finger ruptures my brain. I wonder if that has ever happened?

"12 killed as train hits revelers crossing track in Spain

Agence France-Presse
First Posted 09:10:00 06/24/2010

CASTELLDEFELS – (UPDATE) At least 12 people were killed when a high-speed passenger train slammed into a group of revelers crossing a railway track in northeastern Spain, regional authorities and media said Thursday.

At least 13 others were injured in the accident at the Castelldefels Playa station south of Barcelona at around 11:30 p.m. (2130 GMT) on Wednesday, the interior ministry of the regional government of Catalonia said in a statement.

Spanish media said the dead and injured were mostly youths who were celebrating the annual San Juan (Saint John) mid-summer festival, which includes bonfires, fireworks, concerts and dances, often on the beach.

Reports said they had just arrived at the station on another train from Barcelona and were crossing the tracks to go to the beach, although the station was equipped with a pedestrian underpass.

One witness, Fernando Ortega, told Spanish media the train they arrived on was "very full" and a large number of people got out at the same time so "most decided to jump across the tracks and cross to the other side of the station" to avoid the crush of people.

It was then that the northbound express train came past suddenly.

The head of the regional emergency services, Josep Maria Soto, told Spain's TV3 television that the cause of the accident is under investigation but "the positions of the first victims we found gives the impression they were hit" by a train as they were crossing the track.

An Agence France-Presse photographer said a body and some human body parts were visible on the tracks hours after the accident amid dozens of police, medics, firefighters and Red Cross workers.

The interior ministry said the passengers on the train, which was traveling between the eastern cities of Alicante and Barcelona, were unhurt. The rail line was closed following the accident.

Spanish radio said it was the worst rail accident in Spain since 19 people were killed and 38 injured in a June 2003 collision between a passenger train and a freight train in the southeastern town of Chinchilla."

People really can be like sheep following one another to the slaughter.
I can't tell you how many times I saw a break in traffic on Hillsborough St. and decided to jet across despite the "no crossing" sign being lit only to have all the other sheep lazily start to walk out into the road behind me.

"Drinking game ends with setting man on fire
Comments 0 | Recommend 0
July 11, 2010 10:43 PM
The Associated Press
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- A 47-year-old man's friends set his prosthetic leg on fire after he lost a drinking bet, causing him to suffer severe burns to his buttocks and lower back. Dona Ana County sheriff's deputies found the man naked on the side of U.S. Route 70 with his prosthetic leg in flames. Deputies learned that the man and his friends were drinking Monday and bet that whoever drank the least would be set on fire.

The man told investigators that at six beers, he drank the least, and agreed to let his friends set him on fire.

He said his friends ignited his prosthetic leg, and the flames spread to his body.

The sheriff's office said the man took his clothes off because of the pain and his friends decided to take him to the hospital. But they got nervous and instead dropped him off on the side of the highway.

The man was taken to a Texas burn treatment center.

yall aren't taking into account that he is obviously missing a limb (possibly more) and that accounts for blood and body weight... it probably should take him less to get drunk than his friends

yes, but he and his friends in the name of good sporting should have at least given him a.... for lack of a better word.. handicap.. in the amount to be drank... in the spirit of fair competition.

may have been the case, but it's not mentioned.

but i mean even if you're missing a leg you can handle 6 beers.

i can be missing a leg and weigh more than a girl who can drink 6 beers.

idk

What percentage of your body weight would you say one leg weighs?

I'd say up to 30 percent if you have tree trunk legs

Here is a better one.

Quote :
"EL PASO, Texas -- U.S. Marshals confirmed to ABC-7 Friday afternoon that a body found in a Sunland Park, N.M. landfill was that of a federal inmate who escaped the El Paso jail earlier in the day.

Carlos Roberto Medina-Bailon, 30, of Delicias, Mexico, is believed to have escaped the El Paso County Detention Facility between 4:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Friday by using the garbage disposal system and crushed by the garbage truck compactor.

Video: videoEscaped Jailed Inmate's Body Found in Landfill

He was working as a trusty in the kitchen downstairs in jail, helping to prepare breakfast, when he escaped.

After escaping through the garbage disposal system, Medina-Bailon then hid in a dumpster when the trash was picked up by a garbage truck. The sheriff's office checked with the company providing garbage service to the jail facility which revealed they had already dumped their load at the landfill in Sunland Park, N.M.

Medina-Bailon had been housed at the Downtown jail for a month while awaiting trial on a federal drug charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute. Wiles confirmed Medina-Bailon does have ties to a Mexican drug cartel because of the drug charge.

El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles admitted Friday morning there was flaw in the way trash was disposed of at the jail and said they have fixed that flaw to prevent future escapes. He did not go into specifics of what was changed.

The downtown El Paso jail, operated by the El Paso County Sheriff's office, houses federal and local inmates awaiting trial. The jail is within walking distance of the Mexican border.

Sheriff's deputy Jesse Tovar said the last escape at the downtown jail was in 1997.
