Ragged: please tell us you're joking. i know that you, out of all people, are not failing to comprehend owning a vehicle painted more than one color. at least this one was done by choice and in the spirit of good taste.

are you doing a new manifold or are you using the atp turbo that bolts into the stock location.

It is a Pag-Parts bottom mount manifold.
It is still a log manifold, but better than ATP.

yeah i mean the ko3 is good for 200whp it makes 200whp from when it spools till how ever high you want to (wastefully) spin your motor... it makes the torque line looking hp curve.

the wheelspin is going to get old fast. my buddy ran into this on his Integra with a T61 turbo (basically a GT35 with a bigger turbine side). I think it dyno'd like 440rwhp@16psi and would barely hook in 3rd (even with LSD). He ended up selling the car and getting an NSX.

That just means that you can't be lazy and floor it... I understand what you are saying. It is frustrating knowing I'm making power and I can't always utilize 100% of it due to traction issues, however, I'd rather be in that boat than the alternative.

It's not the same with front wheel drive. Front wheel drive and rear wheel drive wheelspin feel different. Front wheel drive wheelspin is a lot more frustrating, with the torque steer and the understeer and just the general feeling that you are driving on a hamster wheel. Tires do help to a certain extent, but they can only do so much unless you get pretty extreme. I really think 250-300wtq is the practical limit to FWD. It depends on the engine's torque curve though.

400? That's impressive. I'm sure it'll scream like my buddy's old Getta did.

Do you have LSD or anything beyond that crappy OEM system to help out with the wheelspin?

let me clarify. the hardware (longblock, turbo) is capable of 400ish whp on pump. the cv axles and maybe a few other pieces wouldnt be able to hold that consistently.

Consider the CV axles fuses for the transmission then

There is a LSD in the trans.

The axles and motor mounts would need to be replaced to consistently run at 400 though.

neat.

that doesn't strike me as that much power though...? a stock mkVI puts down 200+hp/ftlbs stock generally. what does a stock 1.8T put down?

I'm really enjoying my APR Stage 1 mkvi GTI. Its plenty of power for a FWD car. It has very minimal torque steer, almost none. XDL (electronic psuedodiff that works at all speeds) works surprisingly well too.

1.8ts were either 150, 170, or 180 bhp in stock form, depending on the application
