My bb tour just did a major update (to 5. something) and it reset everything. It moved all my icons, reset my wallpaper and updated many of the apps.... And now, my bb is eating battery like no one's business...and I can't figure out why. Is there somewhere to see what things are running and where? I mean just sitting there my phone is losing battery fast as hell. 4/10/2010 5:27:19 PM |

This is why you always back your shit up with desktop manager before a major update.
To see what's running, press and hold menu button. Do have Sprint or Verizon? 4/10/2010 7:29:00 PM |

who is your service provider? I'm with Sprint - been on OS5 for weeks, no problems - in fact a shell of a lot faster, better memory management, and waaaay more applications compatible.
However, if I leave Google Maps running and forget to tell it to background then my battery only goes like half a day. With it backgrounded I get 2-2.5 days.
You should be able to menu->switch application and see everything running. 4/10/2010 7:36:06 PM |

Maybe it's one of those bb updates where all your info is being uploaded to communist regeim? It could happen. 4/10/2010 8:59:41 PM |

update....after sitting on the phone with verizon for a half hour, (because apparently my telling her that I had pulled the battery and seen the bb update status bar followed by the screen just sitting on the Verizon wireless logo wasn't good enough and had to make me do it again) I was informed that my phone was broken and they were going to have to send me a new one. Mind you that I have another phone number/phone which was initially intended for business purposes, so I asked if she could switch phones/numbers and she said she couldn't. She then said she could forward the calls the other number but that the minutes would now be double.
And then it was sent Fedex and I guess they could give a shit about how quickly I needed it because they sent it 2-day but it was sent yesterday and isn't supposed to get here until Wednesday. Fuck you Verizon. FUCK YOU 4/11/2010 5:55:53 PM |

Blackberries tend to have more problems updating than most other smartphones. 4/11/2010 6:22:53 PM |
