^^We first saw Dwight/Dean in the episode where Daryl runs across those 3 survivors in the woods. At that point his face isn't burnt and he's with 2 girls, and one of the girls gets eaten in the little green house/shack they find. Dwight and the girl talk about fleeing from a "group" that are cruel and that they feared for their lives. The picture is painted that the girls were being mistreated by "someone" and that he was trying to help them escape. We also see the group hunting them down. so the story seems reasonable. The episode ends with Dwight holding Daryl at gunpoint and stealing both his bike and crossbow.

A couple of episodes ago, when they invaded the compound, Daryl finds his bike(last seen with Dwight/Dean). Then this past episode, Dwight re-emerges with Daryl's crossbow(doctor should have kept her eye out for him) and a burned face. He even makes reference that he use to go by Dean but that they could call him Dwight. I think you can speculate what happened to Dwight.

Yea but everyone else in his group had their rifles raised and their fingers on the trigger. The second ANYTHING happened, they would have shot Darryl and Rosita.

So, I just started this series and am reading along in the thread as I watch each episode.

Page 12 of this thread is a train-wreck, and the comments make it sound like the show is the worst on television. I know the show gets better because people are still talking about it today, hopefully the thread gets better too (which it made it to 122 pages, it must get back on track to talking about the show).

About to watch the season 1 finale!

@DonMega

Save yourself the headache and time- bag the series. I got suckered in after season 1 and it's been a disappointment since.

I hardly have enough time in my life to watch all the TV shows that I want to watch and that don't disappoint me. There's so much good tv out there how do you people have so much time to keep up with these shows that you hate so much?

I just only watch the ones I find interesting. And typically its only 1 at a time. But Walking dead ends and then Game of Thrones is the show. After that I might find something on netflix.

Your latest comments don't seem to indicate I was really directing that question at you. Picking out negative things from a show you like is normal. I'm trying to figure out the people who do nothing but complain about the show

I'd say Rosita. Darryl is prob too popular of a character for them to kill. With Abraham ending things with her, its about time one of them main characters died. There are too many of them. Also, given the cliffhanger, they prob won't reveal the fate of Darryl/Rosita until next season. Smart thing for Dwight to do would have been to kill all of them, but obviously he isn't too smart. It did have him say something like "He'll be alright" after it went black.

Pretty clear from the show(and Talking Dead), that no one was killed in that scene, Daryl looked to be shot in the arm.

I hate that people say things like "he is too much of a fan favorite"...think that's the saddest part about this show. They basically give the main characters super armor and just let the lesser ones around them die to make it seem like people die on the regular. I like watching GoT and feeling like any main character could die in any episode.

If Rosita is the next one to die, it'll be extremely disappointing. Just hopefully not a cliche cliffhanger "OMG WHO DIED?!?" ending.

same. i was pretty annoyed when they faded to black that i went ahead and read the spoiler anyway. i won't fall victim to the hashtag marketing campaign they'll inevitably run all summer, at the end of which i'm sure they'll deviate from what took place in the comics.

Great episode, save for the last minute.

It was obvious they were going to do the cliffhanger, I just really hoped the writers wouldn't take the same old cliche/easy way out.

Really only 3 good candidates for who it could be, 1 OK candidate, and 3 really bad candidates. The other 4 are 100% safe.

I know who my money is on, and it has nothing to do with the scene in the comics.

Were some of yall not expecting a cliffhanger in the season finale? REally?

And I also wonder why some people watch this show, yet continually talk about how bad it is. It's kinda like the people who are "fans" of a sport team, but only seem to watch their games so they can bitch about it. There's lots of studies that show that some people get a lot of enjoyment out of complaining, so they go out of their way to provide sources of disappointment.

^Yeah, when he appeared, I knew I recognized him and was trying to remember when I'd seen him on the show before, then was like "Wait, that's Trevor!"

I'm thinking it was Eugene. His little speech to Rick, his recent contributions to the group/redemption/general toughening up/etc. Combine that with him not being one of the super popular/main characters.

Obviously Rick, Darryl, and Khoral are safe. I don't think AMC would go as dark as him beating a pregnant woman to death, so Maggie is most likely safe. Glenn would be an option since him and Maggie in general have been so happy lately. Maybe Sasha or Abraham since they've been giving each other the eye lately.

My bet is Abraham or Eugene. Both had their signature "aha" moment this episode. Both of their storylines have pretty much played out at this point, though I'd hate to lose Abraham's one-liners.

Glen is the other obvious choice. He's escaped death one too many times, plus he's the only one that actually lashed out at Negan (not that it makes much difference.) Glen is a likeable character, but I don't think fans would be devastated if he died. Shocked maybe, but not super depressed.

Daryl would make sense from a storyline standpoint -- but the guy is by far the most popular character on the show. It'd be like Game of Thrones killing off Tyrion. Just seems too risky from a fan backlash standpoint.

Norman Reedus did just get his own TV show about riding around on motorcycles, so maybe he needs the extra time....

^Except he filmed that show while filming TWD as well. That and given how main characters are completely omitted from some episodes because of how big the cast is, not overly surprising that he wouldn't be too tied up with filming for TWD.

100% Safe:
- Rick - Negan knows he's the leader, you don't want to create a martyr, and if you make him submit, the rest will follow.
- Khorl - If you want Rick to submit and work for you, you can't go and beat his kid to death in front of him.
- Maggie - She appears half dead at this point to Negan, plus beating a sick pregnant woman seems a bit too dark for this show.
- I also think the other 3 women are safe, I just don't see any of them being logical picks from an impact/story angle.

If I had to pick the top 4 likely to be gone, it would be Glenn, Daryl, Abraham, and Eugene.

Negan would want to kill someone strong, someone that would show that all of them are vulnerable and one less person to deal with if Rick's crew DOES try to retaliate. So I would say logically it would be one of those 3, and really, Abraham makes too much sense for it not to be him.

^^For the longest time I thought Norman Reedus was Irish because the first time I saw him was in Boondock Saints. I just figured he was pretty good at doing an American accent (like half the cast of TWD).

All women are safe.

Not Rick or Carl.

Glenn: I don't think it will be Glenn because they already faked his death earlier in the season and didn't kill him when he burst out at Negan
Daryl: He is my 2nd choice. But he was already punished with the shot to the shoulder. So you leave a wounded person to go back with them. Plus his character needs revenge vs Dwight.
Eugene - Wont be him because he doesn't seem important enough to Negan to kill.

Abraham - The show typically kills of the character that they are examining that episode. So its him in my book. Hes the only character from that group examined in the past couple episodes.
-------
My only pause is something the producers mentioned during The Talking Dead. They basically said the death is enormous in motivating the group the entire next season.

I don't see Abraham's death being that profound. If I put a lot of weight into how they framed it on TTD, it would have to be a Woman or a major character (Glenn, Daryl). I mean, the show keeps trying to out shock its audience. Nothing would be more shocking than Maggie getting killed.

For Negan, it couldn't be a woman as hes trying to keep a massive organization together. Even for ruthless people, that's a bit much.

Whatever happens I see most of next season being Alexandria under the oppressive rule of Negan with Rick trying to secretly figure out a way to take him out. Maybe with the help of those guys that helped Morgan. Eventually a few of Negan's crew will switch sides to fill in whoever dies.

I don't think it's Eugene as many suggested because Negan motions to Carl to the victims left. Carl is to Eugene's right.

Also, this is pretty interesting and disturbing:

What happened to Aaron? I don't remember seeing him after his gun was taken away. I hope it's not him because they really need to do it to a major character, especially based on what the cast members and producers have been saying about the scene/episode. I wonder if the cast was just hyping the episode or if they didn't know the death would not be shown until next season.

Just watched the finale, I'm not mad at all that it was a cliffhanger, but i just think it wasnt necessary at all. People are still going to tune in next season, and this isn't a show like Lost that's all about the mystery. I think it would have just been so poingnet and MUCH better TV if they had just taken a major character and shown them getting beat to death and just ending.
