I guess Slim's is cool if you're middle-aged and still trying desperately to cling to that bit of rebellious youth you think is left inside you. Or if you listen to rockabilly.

Landmark is always full of morons/tools, and the service sucks.

I've always been fine with Landmark. But I've only really used it as a jumping off point to the rest of the Fayetteville St. places. Think I've only been there late night once and I was wasted.

I was under the impression that it would be later rather than sooner. But it's scheduled to be a venue for Hopscotch, so I guess it'll be open by early September.

foundation is cool, but i can't afford those fancy dranks all the time

landmark is okay, i like the staff but a lot of random tools are mixed in with the clientele

p.s. this thread just illustrates that no bar is like the jp

Went to the Borough a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Its not a Gay bar but there are a lot of gay people there, not a deal breaker for me but for others it might be. Mostly young professional looking types, with hipster tendencies too. Not a place I would go to try to meet people, but is better if you bring a bunch of friends. Beer was maybe $4 or $5 a pint, I cant quite remember.

The Borough has a drink called the HowdoyouQ (I think that's the name, it's been a long time since I was last in Raleigh) and it will get you where you want to be. Two of those and you better not drive. Also, as previously stated, while not a gay bar, it is ~, but I've never had a bad time there.

^^^^ kings is coming back girlie

not til this summer but still

^ i love the times. honestly the main reason i don't hang out that much around the fayet st area on weekends is cause places like the times get sooooo freaking packed. it will be better now that the weather is warmer.

hahaha. i love bars with board games

don't hate

but its always too crowded there to play (on the weekends). i prefer going there during the week. and i'm glad that it is getting warmer cause the outside area is nice and makes it MUCH better (crowd wise)

It's like when they designed Landmark, they were going for a "hey, young professionals should come here for a drink or two after work/on the weekends" clientele. That doesn't seem to be at all what they get from my experience though.
