I realize this is a learning process, but the lack of an actual back button on these remotes is kinda lame. Someones they provide one for you, but often they don't.

I'm also getting "HBOx is currently unavailable. Please try again later" for all my premiums the last couple days." Never got anything like that with AT&T

So I'm moving to a new address. I need to drastically change my TWC package... trying to decide what the best way to do it is. Call to cancel the service and actually cancel it? Then when you get the retainer call the next day, get a better deal and switch to new address? Say fuck it and try UVERSE?

So that's pretty much asking if anyone's TWC broadband speeds have been bumped up yet?

Comcast != TWC.

Comcast is doing some interesting Docsis 3.1 stuff which can hit gig+ speeds.

TWC is mearly doing Docsis 3.0. Top speed they are putting out is 300mb. Thats whats going on in RDU area right now. Its not live yet, they are still doing pre-work, but expect it to come out later this summer.

^ it's slow... the slowest. I think DirectTV is the fastest around here.

Verizon's TV service actually has a really good guide, but I don't think it's in this area.

Just got my biannual TWC price increase-despite no additional services. Furthermore next month the set top boxes they forced me to "rent" are going to start costing money. What is everyone paying? Any tactics? Thanks.

I stopped by one of their physical locations a couple weeks ago to swap out a modem and ended up getting some guy who worked there but was fairly new to completely revamp my bill. Saved me like $40/month and got me some extra channels.

So yeah, they quoted my wife $30,504.00 today for the cost to run cable to the house we are renting starting next week. The house is on Hwy 751 a stone's throw away from Hwy 64... *sigh*

Actually there is fiber run along 751. But it would still cost you like 30k to tap into it (commercial account).

My hope is that our new Charter Overlords will see the wisdom in extending service to us as that entire area is developing rapidly.

It's a ubee. When it works properly, I'm getting ~100 down, ~12 up. But sometimes the dl is throttled as hell in the daytime.

So Time Warner looked at the box that feeds all the units to my building and there were some jank ass old splitters in there that they swapped out. Put in a new splitter and added like 8 dB to my signal #coolstory

What is the downside of cancelling cable and using a jailbroken firestick? I realize the interface isn't really user friendly, but aside from that anything?

A buddy of mine has been using Kodi on his fire stick and it's pretty legit. I just tried it out this weekend.

I think we're going to cut the cord this week. We're going to go with:

PS Vue
Netflix
Kodi App on phone and Chromecast to TV

So it looks like twc is the only thing available to me in the middle of downtown Cary.. Is $65 for 200 mbps the best I'm gonna do? Or would there be other providers besides att and twc?

we cut the cable and got the premium sling pkg. 100% satisfied with it, but I cannot pick up local channels over the air to save my life. I've tried 2 antennas and can't pick up anything.

https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Heres-Charters-New-Spectrum-Pricing-Details-Launch-Weeks-Away-137832

News on how TWC packages might go away under Charter. This will suck if they get rid of all the new Maxx packages and levels. Then again in RDU area, between ATT and GF(eventually) TWC/Charter will be the one losing out as customers will go elsewhere.

Just had to play this game again, my year long "promotion" expired and my 200 internet price jumped from 49.99 to 69.99. Had to drop down to 100 to get it back to 49.99 with the 2nd person I spoke to, the 1st was useless. Might have to call back and play the cancel service card and see if I can do better.
