We are trying to use this at work.
Currently we are having a problem with the microphone volume increasing automatically till the point that it picks up the voices of speakers at different sites, and then they hear an echo.
I can turn the volume down, but it automatically raises the volume again until again i can hear myself echo.
I want to disable automatic gain control/automatic volume leveling, any ideas? 4/16/2010 3:21:17 PM |

call TAC ? ... no really though ... Im certain that if its a software/config issue, the voice guys in tac can fix it for you ...
There is also a chance that the problem is your mic/headphone hardware. Not a voice pimp, so I cant help you unfortunately. 4/16/2010 9:37:51 PM |

I bet even the hr people, accountants, maintenance people and janitors at Cisco get "Hey what's wrong with my [Cisco device]?" when they're away from work. 4/17/2010 7:55:39 AM |

Does it always reset back to normal every call? If it doesnt, maybe try to increase some of the silence suppression, you need to eliminate something or other (helpful, I know).
Id try manuals online, TAC is $$. 4/17/2010 2:18:01 PM |

Is it this bug??
CSCso82757 Bug Details
Symptom:
When using CIPC 2.1(3), the master volume for the Mic is increased to the maximum during the call. Setting from Audio Tuning Wizard is not preserved.
Conditions:
Issue is caused by AutomaticGainControl. In some symtems with AGC enabled it can cause the Mic volume to increase to the Maximum during a call
Workaround:
Disable AGC.
A UI option to enable/disable AutomaticGainControl has been added. The setting can be accessed under the Advanced Audio Settings menu. To view the UI option a user must create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems, Inc.\Communicator\AudioShowAGC and set the value to 1. This will display the UI option to enable/disable AGC under the Advanced Audio Settings menu.

not really a big concern. Other than certain security related issues that have special rules on how they are released, we have a policy of making all of our bugs public. 4/19/2010 8:13:35 AM |

Do you have a smartnet contract? If so, your best bet is to open a TAC case. Although, I suspect that since you're posting here, you probably do not. 4/19/2010 9:36:19 AM |

We probably do, we have a cisco voip guy who managers our voip network (probably around 4000 or so phones).
However, hes busy this week and I'm trying to find stuff out by my lonesome. 4/19/2010 2:16:35 PM |
