I know an Emma, a Lillian, an Elliott and 2 Josephines (1 as of 3 days ago! And they spelled it Josefein)

my search of "Josefein" after took me to a page and of the top 100 girl names for 2009 all of those names were on there (except Elliott...but it was on the top 100 for boys)...seems older names at the trend nowadays

that said...my older name love list is
Adrianna, Louisa, Ava, Molly, Madeline, Camille

^^^Yep, classic names are making a comeback. The name I've picked for my girl isn't on the top 100 lists yet, and I hope it stays that way, so that one got left of my list up there!

[Edited on April 19, 2010 at 7:45 PM. Reason : and I LOVE Ava. If I'm having a son, his middle name will be Asa ]

get a baby book name (or borrow from some library). it is worth it.

or just look here for the most popular 1,000 names this year:

(and every year all the way back to 1880)

i like older names, i'm just scared that once the hipsters begin procreating they will name their children all these cool old names just to be "ironic". Thus ruining it for normal people that like the names sincerely.

lets just hope that their skinny jeans, overheating macbooks on their laps, smoking parlaments, and the hard seats on their fixed gear bikes all render their sperm useless

The Baby Name Wizard is a fantastic book. I highly recommend it. It's not just a book of names in alphabetical order with the meanings; it's a bit more complex. You can look up a name that you really like and then it will give you a list of names that are the same 'flavor' or sibling names. It was one of the books that I used while I was pregnant and I'm going to steal my copy back when I get pregnant again.

I was at the airport on Friday and there was a little boy named Seven. I found it different.

Hmm...what do you think of Drea? I like that name.

Let her know what you really wanted. Any other name would just be a shame.
