Do only classes taken for free electives count for minors? or If I have taken a class that is a requirement for my major can it also be used to count towards the minor? 4/28/2010 3:38:31 PM |

yeah, the only time it doesnt, as far as i know, is when you CANT minor in something. ie an accounting major cant be a business minor bc their major requirements also fit the minor requirements. 4/29/2010 12:01:49 AM |

Yes
All the classes you take are applicable toward any major or minor. If you plan it well your free electives can do double duty and often satisfy a similar minor For example Major= Microbiology Minor = Genetics I only had to take one extra class because I used my major requirements and free electives 4/29/2010 12:03:59 AM |

Sweet. I will probably do a minor in Political Science then. It looks easy and I have to take several PS classes anyway. 4/29/2010 9:39:08 AM |

^^ I did the same with a degree in zoology and a minor in botany. I had to take 2 extra classes but I could have gotten away with one if I had planned the minor earlier. 4/29/2010 6:59:05 PM |

Does anyone who has a done a minor before know how many forms you need to fill out? Do I just need to do the declare minor form? Also I don't think I will even need to take any extra classes to get the minor, they will all go into my requirements or free electives. 4/30/2010 10:30:52 AM |

There's another form/card you fill out when you submit your blue card. the blue card is for your major, the other one is for your minor. That should be all you have to do 4/30/2010 2:30:19 PM |
