i was talking to my dad today, and he told me something that happened on the light rail..

My dad and his co worker got on the light rail this morning to go to work. 3 black men got on being loud and cursing and bragging about how they got on with no tickets. the train left and continued to uptown Charlotte making its usual stops. as the train ride went on the 3 guys kept getting louder and louder making fun of random people on the train. they started making fun of an elderly woman calling her a slut and at the next stop she got off. to make a long story short the train got to up town and a guy that works with them stood up to get off. his book bag with his computer in it touched on of the black guys, the black guy told him "get that fucking bag off me". the guy turned around and apologized to him, then that fucking sack of shit pushed him into the other black guy, and all three of them beat the shit out of him. they broke his jaw, fucked his eyes all up, he had to get stitches... i fucking hate people like that.. i hope they fucking get hit by a car...

My understanding of the law is that if you are defending someone then you're allowed to use the same amount of force as you would if you were defending yourself. So, in reality when someone is kicking a dude in the head pulling a gun on them is exactly what you want to do.

I also want EVERYONE to keep in mind that anyone who carries would have thought this through long before walking past them (Because 3 surrounding 1 at close range is not what I'd call great odds). I would have already had the gun in my hand personally. I would have done everything possible to NOT get close to them. This is what I mean when I say situational awareness. If you know three crazy fucking shitbags are down there, be prepared to kill them. Understand that they are looking for trouble and try to get away from them if possible. If you have to, use an emergency exit. I have no problem pushing out a window to avoid confrontation. If they come towards me then, it's plug and chug time bitch.

the other problem is that 3 guys like that might not scatter, and if you don’t shoot them all quick enough, there’s a good chance one of them will take the gun from you and shoot you with it. not to mention that there is plenty of opportunity to hit a bystander when you’re on a train.

I don't own a Tasman Salt. I simply recommend it as a defensive blade.

Also, I keep saying the biggest goal is to AVOID the confrontation in the first place. But if it comes to you, take as many as you can with you, for fucking sure. I would also never posit the claim that I can or can't get out of a given situation. That is some armchair elitism shit. What you can do is learn from this and remember it. Then, when you see it in real life, your alertness level will go up, you will consider "hey, I need to get the fuck out of here even if it is inconvenient. I need to pull this alarm even if I look like a pussy. I need to exit via the emergency window even though I might look dumb." It's a lot better than having to plug three scumbags to death in defense of your own life, or being killed, or beaten beyond recognition should things go wrong.

If they aggressively approach while you do this, draw. If they keep moving, immediately start shooting.

If cops show up because you use that emergency exit, that's all the better. You and everyone else there can explain how you feared for your lives.


^ That is why you DON'T GO NEAR THEM. You force them to come to YOU via a fatal funnel where you CAN hit them all.

This is also why I wish more people carried, because if two passengers on that car carried, then when one got attacked the other would have their back.

Again, the person carrying will NOT always be the person getting attacked. Stay away from the motherfuckers. If they bring it to you, handle it before they get there.

As I said before, this is a tough, real situation and it's why you may have to inconvenience yourself for the sake of safety. No bravado involved whatsoever.

aha, there's a lot of truth in this. I know that at work during a user evaluation, I was talking to one of our marines... just shooting the breeze. He was telling me about the standard issue weapons they carry, and mentioned his knife. He went on to say If I'm ever in theatre and I'm using my knife to defend myself.... that means that a series of events leading up to that current situation has gone terribly wrong.
