it actually does use whale oil as it's primary lubricant. whale oil performs extremely well under extreme cold conditions.

I watched a documentary about whaling last night...scooping oil out of a whale's head would have sucked balls.

What's so bad about having your balls sucked?

i was also watching America: the story of us, and i think it lost credibility when i saw Sean "P Diddy" Combs and Al Sharpton as partial hosts

also, i didn't like how the show portrayed the civil war.

^^it seems to have a very northern slant. not just the civil war, but the series in general. I still think it's a great series.

^^^,^^

yea, it just seemed like it had a northern slant. the series just made it seem like the south didn't have a chance to win because they were too stupid to build railroads and build telegraph systems. they failed to mention the shear volume of the forces (2 mil in the north vs 1 mil in the south). they also never went in to great detail of sherman's march, or the economic destruction of the south. and then, of all people, al sharpton had to throw his two cents in, and i have no respect for him at all.

other than that, i have been dvr'ing the series and have been entertained.

I agree. The series should have made it seem like the south didn't have a chance to win because they were too stupid to understand the "shear" volume of the forces.
