I'm doing 2 study abroad programs in CR, which are 40 days apart. So I'm going to travel (Everywhere from Medellin, Colombia to El Salvador) for those 40 days.

I might not come back, but my return flight is scheduled for 3 months from tomorrow, and I might get malaria.

For real. Costa Rica is awesome. Enjoy it! There is a ton of stuff to do there.

I reallllly want to go back, but I know there are other places that my wife and I are going to try and use our int'l vacation budget on first besides going back to some place we have already been. However, we will be getting back there as soon as possible!

i spent 8 days there and it was awesome. actually stayed in playa hermosa. and its about an hour bus ride to manuel antonio. don't knock it till you try it

I won't knock it... but I've been here for 18 days and everyone has been talking about how Jaco is overdeveloped for tourism, artificially expensive, condoms on the beaches, just a horrible, nasty place. They're knocking it though.

i agree with the general sentiment of Jaco proper...it is overdeveloped (although not crowded by any means) and there are several eyesores of unfinished condos. And the beaches are not my favorite in Jaco. just make sure if you're swimming or surfing you go to North to Playa Hermosa and its beautiful. The nightlife is fun to experience in Jaco though if you get the chance.
