and of course the edge launches into his usual very typical not at all bluesy delay solo

Along those lines, there's a part in the live version of "Free Bird" from the Fabulous Fox Theatre where Ronnie tells one of the guitarists to "play somethin' pretty for Atlanta" right before a bridge. It's sweet as hell.

That is a weak solo, but the solo in "To Be With You" by Mr. Big is weaker still.
