I have worn a short goatee without mustache and a soul patch fairly regularly since high school. Amazingly, no one has ever really given me shit for it. I also like to grow long sideburns, but I recently cut those back to just below my earlobes.

actually what we call a goatee is technically a "circle beard". and a van dyke is one type of that.

but circle beard is a really dumb name, so it's no wonder nobody uses that.
