SO, something weird is going on with my leg. Two days ago it suddenly felt like I had a hurt bruise from about the bottom part of my ankle to the middle of my calf. And not just like some kind of light bruise, but like I got hit pretty damn hard right in the leg. It appeared out of no where, while I was with my girlfriend indoors. I thought it was really weird, wasn't sure what could have caused it. There was no discoloration of the skin. So the next day it doesn't hurt quite as much, but there's obviously a red coloration to my skin above the affected area. It should be noted that the are no visible bites, no raised skin--so it doesn't seem like lyme disease to me. Today it's slightly more discolored and it hurts less. It's still really only a weird shade of red, like irritated skin, but it's not--it's not hot either, since that's another symptom that's usually present.

I don't know, I'm really not sure what I could have. I'm not sure at what point it would need to be seen by a doctor, if it gets more discolored? If it starts hurting more?

I did WebMD smyptom checker. I clicked on "back view", then "leg" then "calves". When I added the symptom of "tenderness to touch", it asked "On which side of your body is your tenderness to touch?" When I clicked "one side only" it immediately said "IF YOU HAVE NEW TENDERNESS OR SWELLING IN ONLY ONE OF YOUR CALFS PLEASE SEEK PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION."

So yea, I went to the doctor who sent me to the hospital who nestled a bunch of warm sonogram viewfinders next to my balls and various other points between my pelvis and the spot of concern, and it's not a clot that they can tell, even superficial. Between my doctor and the radiologist, no one fucking knows what it is. It has the symptoms of a clot but isn't, it isn't a muscle tear, it isn't cellulitis, so what the hell is it?

I'm on antibiotics (or will be tomorrow) as if it were cellulitis... but it is. So WTF medical people.

at least it isn't a clot

i know someone < 35, super healthy (i mean in shape, at least) who had pain in his calves, did the same thing you did, and they found TWO clots. now he's on blood thinners and he had to wear those cool tights and couldn't drink for awhile.

so i mean. at least it isn't a clot? cause then you really could die. but sicne they don't know what it is maybe it is more serious and you'll still die. keep us posted.
