I am getting a 2wd one with a straight 6.

Pretty excited about tinkering on it.

I need to rebuild the brakes. I have done this before that will not be a problem. My question is.. while I'm in there is there a well known brake upgrade? Maybe from a newer generation or something?

I still have yet to see the truck in person, but from my understanding they have disc up front.

Any suggestions?

thanks guys.

I'd just put enough money in that vehicle to keep it going. No reason to upgrade the brakes unless parts were hard to find or expensive, which in your case they wouldn't be.

Yeah, just wondering if anyone knew of a cheap junk yard mod to do out of a newer vehicle. sounds like I will just stick with what the truck came with.. thanks man

That straight six will pull stumps, but avoid the interstate if you value your life.

My dad had one of these. The body had 400k+, the engine had 250k+ and you could see through the floor pans. He ran a red light and flipped the fucker in 2002. It was bad ass.

1. Strip off chrome.
2. Spraypaint flat black ($1.88 per can; Red Devil @ Big Lots)
3. Apply 50% of the chrome back to the vehicle.
4. ...
5. PROFIT!

The problem with these trucks is the front wheel has a tendency to "intrude" into the passenger compartment during crashes. Or so firemen were always telling me.

Ragged, 2 spots fo sho. Park next to brand new Jags and Mercedes. Awkwardly close too

I am thinking about getting a 200 dollar paint job for it.

I will rip the side moldings off and fiberglass/bondo over the holes that are left and then get a paint job thrown on it to make it look decent.

where did these rims come from factory? Original seat. no rips. Dude kept a seat cover on it. Interior has to be best part

has only 155k. first 100k highway

^well, I don't plan on wrecking it..

it's addicting. I feel like Karate kid, bondo on, bondo off, bondo on bondo off.

other side needs a lot of repair. been workin' on that during the nights.

I do like the rims and also wonder where they came from. Solid looking truck; I like the 80's F150 and they're getting rarer out there.
