so yesterday i was walking from the kickball field to my car for another beer in-between innings.

as i did i walked past some guy with his little mini pincher. well the damn thing snapped at me, i just kind looked at it funny and kept on walking. then it actually clamped down on my calf, breaking the skin.

i yelled at the guy, asking if it had all its shots. he said it did, to which i responded, "then where are its tags, and why are you at a park with a dog that bites people?"

i had to run and get back on the field since we were in the middle of a game.

dude was gone by the time we got back to the dugout.

soooooo..... we have another game tomorrow at the same field. Should I call animal control and have his dog taken if i see it out there? whats the proper course of action for this. im more pissed at the guys strange reaction to the situation than the dog.

what would tww do?

i mean you can if you want to. it did bite you. if they take it they'll prob put it down though.

i'd warn the guy - say if you see him again since his dog bites people you'll be forced to call animal control because you'd hate hear of the dog biting someone else (like a small child). tell him that animal control has the authority to put dogs down that bite. then you're warning him of the consequences.

I'd imagine training a dog to bite children would probably involve more selection than training.

I would have called the cops right then, seeing as you have a cell phone. I'm surprised none of the 20 witnesses felt compelled to do this.

Hope you don't get rabies

This entire thread makes me think you are a retarded, pussy bitch. You got bitten by a glorified rat and you want to call fucking animal control? Man the fuck up, slut. Next time you see it, and it starts acting hostiley towards you, then you should stay the fuck away from it if you can't handle the risk that follows with just continuing past. That rat means more to it's owner than the pain and shame of being bitten should mean to you. I mean, demanding its tags, are you fucking serious? Get the fuck over it, you little pussy

^^what a homo.
i couldnt care less about the grown man who showed no concern that his dog bit me. its clearly not the first time his dog has done so. the next time it could be a childs face. I realize you are just a nerdy little 22 year old computer geek, but sometimes you have to act like a grown up.

only thing that will happen is the dog will be quarantined for 10 days, unless the dog is a repeat offender.

def. call someone.

This shit gives responsible people with dogs a bad name.

Anyway I don't beleive the dog gets put down unless it has a previous history. If he lets it run around biting people I hope they put it down - It could really fuck up a kid. I was mauled by a dog and this shit is srs.

Call animal control so that next time it'll be killed. Biting should NOT be tolerated just because of a dog's size.

^^ Word. I got attacked by a neighbor's dogs when I was a kid because he basically neglected the dogs. The dogs got put down and he was banned from owning dogs in Raleigh ever again. I think he moved soon after

damn, Mr. Grace, i never knew you was such a bitch. i mean, a little toy dog nipped your leg. i suspect the owner was acting the way he was, in response to you being such a douchebag.

i personally would never own such a stupid little rat-dog, but if i did, and it bit some drama queen who then shit his pants about it, i'd keep my mouth shut and bail too.

There's always gotta be some cunt acting like they've never encountered a dog before got to go around making a scene any time a dog acts like a dog.

I'll bet you're a cat-owner arent you?

^^ eh, I keep a tight leash even on the 8-pounder. Gets out of line I let him know it. In voice, and in correction. People who are not capable of keeping their junk straight shouldn't have dogs to begin with.

And if was me I'd be super apologetic right after the dog was back in line. The dude with the dog is the pussy here.

don't get somebody's dog taken away. my mom's dog recently bit somebody and had to be quarantined for 10 days and next time they put her down. you got bit by a mini-pin I mean it sucks and you should have taken it out on the owner more maybe but not the dog, it's really the owners fault.

^ No offense, but the dog should have been in quarantine for 10 days. Sucks for the dog but if it's biting people then it's a public nuisance.

The quarantine is just to annoy the dog's owner. It needs to be quarantined because if that dog was usually a nice dog and then just randomly bites there is a small chance it could have rabies. Owning a dog is a privilege, not a right. If you can't control your dog in public then you don't deserve it. I am all about punishing the owner, not the dog, but if a dog has bitten once in public, that may be an accident, but then you should be prepared for it to happen again. It may have been a fluke, but if a dog of mine ever bites anyone then I would make sure he was always on a leash in public, and anyone who comes up to my dog will be warned. Now, if some random kid runs up to my dog and starts petting it and then he bites, well, that's the kid's/parent's fault and I will fight that shit.

^^none taken but I wouldn't call her a nuisance she was trying to protect my grandparents from a perceived threat. a black lady was jogging on the perimeter of their yard and Halo growled/barked and the lady just kept running at her so she bit her. my gradnpa was mowing the lawn otherwise it wouldn't happened. the girl was basically on our property, maybe 3 feet away max.

So your grandparents weren't following the leash laws and the dog attacked a woman jogging beside their property. I'm not surprised at all the dog was quarantined.

I didn't read all of the thread, so I'm sorry if someone already said this...

When I worked at the shelter, if a dog bit someone, quarantine was used to see if they showed signs of rabies within 10(?) days. I think they would only put the dog down if it was a serious bite (but I do know someone who had a golden retriever that bit their neighbors hand when trying to open their front door, and that dog was put down because the neighbor threw a fit, not really sure how they were able to do that but it happened).
