I'm wondering if he's even thought about that part yet. It's a lot to take in.

Opening scene next week

just throwing this out there as a plug for Alt Shift X - if you haven't watched his videos on YouTube, you should. they're incredibly well-produced and cover each episode in great detail, fan theories, geography, etc. They did a recap episode for season 8 and they'll put out the episode explaining last night's within a few days.

Did anyone else think that Euron was dead after Theon beat the shit out of him in season 7?

You've got your characters mixed up. Theon beat up some red shirt.

Btw there really needs to be something else to the "cersei wants Jamie dead" plot line, like a plot by qyburn or some shit, bc if she wanted him dead she could have had the Mountain kill him just last episode. She's gained no new info since then.

Yeah, the last time Theon saw Euron was when he jumped off the ship instead of trying to save Yara. Which was the right move

^^he deserted her when he left King's Landing. it was like an anti-crossing the Rubicon type of moment. she wanted him to command the Lannister army and he just bounced, so she knows he's gone over to the other side like he was pleading with her to do (temporarily to deal with the walkers) and she said no hoping it would weaken/disorient them while they are able to keep preparing for whatever. seems like she underestimates the size/power of the zombie hoard and/or hopes that the Northerners will ultimately eliminate them, but become greatly weakened in the process so she can just slide in and crush the last of her opponents.

lol how fucked would it be if the Night King actually defeats everyone in the north, then the Lannister army comes in and conquers him. Then the whole series ends with Cersei winning. Not likely, but if any series were to have something crazy like that happen, it would be this one.

^^I'm not exactly sure what that paragraph is attempting to say, but Jaime TOLD her he was going north. She threatened to kill him but didn't. Why kill him now?

^^Still hope the Night King wins, kills everyone, and then sits on the Iron Throne as the final scene of the show.

Nothing will upset people more than seeing the Night King winning.

kings landing gets fucked, things return to mostly rule of sovereign nations, no one wins the throne because there is no kingdom.

jon snow either survives at a cost heavy enough to make death preferable or he far surpasses Ned in the honorable fool department. no way he gets the hero’s due.

dead: Cersei, the Mountain and the Hound, Sam, Bran, Jorah
Euron (they killed him off in the time it took to proofread this post)
Brienne (hack and slash gorefest at a pivotal moment, fulfilling the role of a Knight more ably than any man. Everyone gets to feel good about heroes for a second)
Theon (people don’t change, the moment he gets any real power or influence back he will fuck it up spectacularly)
Arya (extra points if it’s some heroic bullshit and the Hound gets to rag her on it before she dies)
Daenerys (absolutely Jon’s fault)

Alive: Lyanna Mormont. End of list.

I'm thinking Jon will die after impregnating Dany. Their kid will ultimately be "Fire and Ice" or whatever and will be unified ruler of Westeros.

Women used to smoke/drink when they were pregnant just a few decades ago here in real life. I doubt people in Westeros (which isn't exactly the pinnacle of modern medicine) would be up to date on pre natal health.

I'm still skeptical about her being pregnant at all. I'm thinking she was using it to try and keep Jaime on her side. Also, didn't that witch tell her she would have 3 children and they would all die?

Didn't Tyrion physically notice she was pregnant when he was pleading with her to join the alliance against the WW?

Tyrion saw Cersei turn down a glass of wine and then rub her belly while talking about her future in the finale last season. Seemed like Tyrion took the wine refusal as a reason to think she was pregnant

It was noted even in the scenes outlined above. When speaking with Tyrion, she said she had more to live for now, and that's why she would help them. When Tyrion spoke to others at Winterfell, he noted how she had more to live for and reason to support now. These facts were proven untrue due to Cersei's willingness to renege but it demonstrates how individuals are aware that bringing a child into the world affects decisions and reevaluates what is/is not important.

I believe she may have also explained to Jamie that her reason to lie was because of the future for her child.

It's just in general a thing. Kids = changed behavior.

So she's going to fight the army of the dead bc of her child

And she is going to NOT fight the army of the dead bc of her child

We already know she will take absurdly destructive and careless tactics to protect her own interests. She claims some of these are for her children but they are really just her desire for vengeance and influence. I'm not sure she becomes any meaner or nicer with another kid. If nothing else the show hasnt tried (or did a poor job) to show us how her motivations might change.

I think it's as simple as this...

If she does something good due to fetal alcohol syndrome "baby" than that plot line will have paid off.

If on the other hand she continues to just be shitty, as is the most likely case, than it's just wasted time talking about a baby that doesn't affect anything, and anyone saying they don't give a shit about it will be justified in that thought

I think it goes back to the storyline where Cersei and Jaime are the last two Lannisters (well with Tyrion too but they don't include him in the conversations) so their decisions "for the family" have a limited timeline with no children. Cersei being pregnant changes all their plans and decisions for continuing the Lannister name

even still, if she continues to choose the more awful decision til the end of the show will any of these motivations matter?

Drogon stares at Jon. Jon rides Rhaegal.

Drogon is the biggest black one. Rhaegal is green. Viserion (red one) is now the Night King's dragon.

I'd say she often did some even more terrible things because of them. which is still a change in perception, just on the negative rather than the positive. Afterall, sociopath is going to sociopath.

but new topic because this is dumber than even some of the LOST conversations we used to have.

She was drinking wine in episode 8:1 and looks like she is about to cry when Euron says he is going to put a prince in her belly. I think she lost it or killed it.

or contemplating what would be worse - claiming it is jaime's although he is no longer around or euron claiming the baby as his.

cersei child prophesy could still come true even if she is pregnant, she may die before the kid is born (although killing a pregnant woman is a harsh thing for any show to do)

Alt Shift X just released his breakdown on the premiere. He talks about what the symbol means using a quote from the writer of the episode. Basically it's the symbol of the children of the forest which he is using similar to the devil using the upside cross.
