Yeah, you're right. That's a book vs. show difference. They changed and combined a bunch of stuff on the show. I wonder if the Greatjon is actually still alive. I'm just not buying house Umber turning on the Starks.

If they didn't turn then rickon put on a great performance and apparently was fine with them killing shaggydog.

If bringing Rickon to Ramsey is just a ploy and that was a regular wolf and NOT shaggydog... then I actually hope the opening scene is a slow pan to rickon and umber's flayed corpses because it would be the dumbest ploy ever, and that is exactly what Ramsey would do.

Apparently the actor said shaggy dog is dead. But, as I mentioned earlier, the Umbers can just be using Rickon to gain trust of Ramsey. They have has plenty of time to figure it out. Rickon sincerely thinks the Umbers are betraying the Starks.

Hasnt Rickon been with the Umbers for a while now (based on the books because the show made no mention of them after splitting with Bran)? Seems silly that the Umbers would wait this long if they wanted Bolton help. The timing of their visit makes me believe they are tricking Ramsey who doesnt really think with his head.

I formally declare my allegiance to the Umber/Manderly conspiracy theory. Both will betray Ramsey.

And generically you don't want all the houses fighting each other to the last man. You want something left to fight with after the fact.

Yes, back when Sansa was there it was in the credits.

Also, glad to see it looks like I was right about little finger bringing the vale to fight against Ramsay.

I think Ramsay killing Osha was a bit of a tease. I think it was supposed to be a "damnit, he got away with killing another Stark ally" moment before he gets fucked hard from 3 different sides.

Really enjoyed this episode. Didn't expect Dany to really use her Johnny Storm powers again. I like where they are going with Sansa, John and the wildlings. And do I detect something between Brienne and the wildling leader? I can't remember his name. They'd make an interesting couple. You know those wildlings like their lady folk big and strong. Brienne has been an outcast for it, and it's something they go for.

At least the first time it happened, with the dragons, they included her hair as something that can burn. This time her hair just hung around.

The first time it was all supposed to be surrounded by blood magic which is why she didnt burn. Supposedly she can burn. Maybe somehow if people die around her at the time she cant burn?

She certainly killed people in that fire. Although she grabbed the torches first.

She also seemed impervious to dragon fire in House of the Undying

Also who cares about books. If grr wanted to stay canon he should have sped the fuck up

Well, there was also, in that first episode, the boiling hot water that she took a bath in. There's precedent for her being immune, and that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that her hair didn't burn this time. Inconsistencies like that get to me. Guess it's OCD.

my complaints.
-We're going into half of season 6 and still not much is going on. Basically the resurrection of Jon is the most anticipated but expected thing to happened. The rest are meh.
-I'm getting tired of the High Sparrow dude. The Mountain needs to smash his head.

That is all.

They've done a really poor job of justifying the rise of the Faith Militant/High Sparrow in my mind. I'm sure it's better explained in the books, but as only a watcher I don't really buy that they would have been able to become this powerful with the king (the pussy that he is) being this scared of them and/or taking any action

^I'd say the fact that we only see the common folk very rarely (more so in earlier seasons) probably has something to do with it. Most of who we see are people from important families or tied to important families so we don't really know what the average man or woman is dealing with.

the books talk about the Sparrows starting in Feast for Crows iirc. they're almost like religious gypsies and nobles bitch about how dirty they are with no shoes and "horn like, leather feet" and they start to get more common. Then they come into the city right about the same time the new High Septon is to be chosen but they catch him in a brothel and it just makes the case for the Sparrows to take power. There are hundreds of them and they're armed. They put Cercei in her place immediately, although she thinks she gets the best of them at first. They come off as much more creepy in the books.

something else they mention in the books are "broken men", which are people who go off to war (on their on volition or otherwise) in search of glory and spoils and usually with their friends and/or family from their small towns and then they see the horrors of war and just lose it and go crazy, reverting back to an animalistic fight or flight state, so a lot of these guys may end up being converted into Sparrows as well

Here's the part I'm having the most trouble grasping. Tommen is a pussy, OK fine, he won't do anything to get either his mother or his wife back (I still find this to be a stretch even if he's so weak, but whatever)

Lady Olanna conspired to have Joffrey killed to prevent him from marrying Marjorie, yet she's just sat on the sidelines this whole time and not taken any action while Marjorie and Loras now waste away in cells?

Well she asks the two amigos and young dosh for help, so, yes I assume. But also that place had a straw floor, walls and roof

Yeah, it was pretty clearly implied that she had a plan and asked the young ex-khaleesi for help.

Presumably they oiled up the place and Jorah and Daario barred the door and killed the guards.

she specifically asked for help, knew oil torches would provide lighting, and they showed the doors were barricaded from the outside. yes, it was planned advance.

I don't really care about the rest of it, or how it happened, but the one thing that pulled me out of the moment was how she should be able to open the doors if they were barred from the outside. the doors hadn't burned yet to the point where they could be opened. and no one was there to remove the beams/bars/rods from the handles so the doors could open.

I mean, in the end i don't care, but it was just very very lazy

I thought the scene was pretty bad ass. I thought about her hair burning...but that's being nitpicky when it comes to someone who is immune to fire. Who's to say that ability doesn't extend through her hair? And hey...we got to see those nice tittays again.

I assume we're all to think that Osha was acting on her own? No one thinks Ramsay will start to doubt the Umbers and that they encouraged Osha to attempt the assassination?

I am excited to see the Night King or whatever next episode.

The hair is nitpicky yea, but they specifically had her hairless the first time she burned...when the dragons were born.

It's simple. They wanted to show a topless Emilia Clarke, but figured no hair would ruin for people watching.

They said at the end of the episode that GRRM revealed to the show writers the origin of Hodors name. So, the show is officially spoiling the books now. Nice job, GRRM

Also, think he knew about that moment his entire life?

Yes. This is more Bran having super green sight and being able to go back and not only see, but influence the past. Like how Ned heard him at the Tower of Joy

But he's not really changing the past. Those events occured the same way they always did. It's a closed loop, as the 3 eyed Raven said, "the ink is dry"
