Brief rant about Siler City:

What's the deal with the 8th street, 8th avenue, 8th road, and 8th boulevard? Can't y'all get some different names?

Rocks seem like an odd cushion for eggs.

That's awesome! We have a tufted titmouse nest in one of our bluebird boxes this year. They hatched a while ago and I think they may have fledged already. We also have our second batch of bluebird babies in our other bluebird house. They had 5 babies survive earlier this year and they have 5 babies again, but they haven't left the nest yet. I hope they all make it.

When I lived in NJ way back when a Killdeer set up its nest on the corner of our gravel driveway. It was cool having it there and funny when it'd fuss at us.

This spring a robin made its nest in a bush in the front of our house and had 3 chicks. They're all gone now though

Some summers ago, one of these birds hatched some eggs at my parents place. Since then, all you can hear during the spring/summer is them flying around, squawking the whole time. All the roads at my parent's house are gravel so there is a nest at each turn it seems. Whenever we drive around, or even walk around, the mother goes into the whole "I'm wounded over here get away from my nest." Routine.

But easy to make a nest on the ground.
